Handy little 2 tonne bottle jack. My scissor jack that came with the car failed, this was purchased to go in with the spare. Tested it out, seems fit for purpose. Easier to use on a cold wet night by the roadside in a pinch. Price on shelf said £30, but went through the till at £10.23 okay.

....ah, but can you get the bottle under the car when the tyre is flat?

Yeah, the lifting range is 16.8 to 31.6cm.
A 195 50R15 tyre is on a rim 15 inch or approx 38 cm diameter or 19 cm radius.
So, unless your wheels are smaller than a fiestas, then yes!

It is a good point you make.
It could be a bit tight on my old 07 fiesta given that the wheel centre is a little above the jacking point. But then the tyre even when it is totally flat still adds a little hieght. You would definately be fine with a bigger motors wheels though.

The reviewer was using the jack to stabilise His caravan and the jack went down after some hours.Kind of laughable to give a bad review based on that expectation. It seems bog standard fine to me.
Wonder if I can lift an Audi Q5 with this? Damn thing came with no spare but it does have a subwoofer where the spare should go!! how useful! i am thinking of getting a space saver spare and this jack if it lifts high enough...funny how you pay more and get less nowadays.

Yeah, might not have enough lift, a block of wood under it?

With a standard trolley jack, not bottle Jack, I had to add a piece of wood under the car to lift a Q5 to remove a wheel. Car was on a slight hill. Them wheels are heavy too.
Cheers guys, I saw the Q5 jack its a massive scissor one. I thought this may be more stable for changing the tyre..
Maybe a noob question but anyone know if you can use them to change a tyre, I've read the manual and it expects you to put axel stands straight after you have jacked the car up which I didn't know until after purchase.

Yes, buckle and brace approach.
This looks like it will punch straight through . . not what I would ever get.
