Google search : "a8-6410 gaming" and check videos. People were able to play latest games like Skyrim, Battlefield 4, though the settings were set to low . Most of the games would probably be playable at some settings.
If your kids would be happy with it then go for it, if you want a proper gaming laptop you'd need to pay waay more.

A good netflix machine or for the kids. Not a bad deal

Better price but if you can afford extra £30 then double the RAM and double size of HDD is probably worth extra money.

that looks like a solid deal. I'd rather have the i5 over the i3 for half the RAM and Harddrive (still 4GB and 500GB). and it's £10 less.

I'd upgrade any laptop to an SSD drive anyway, nothing improves the performance more, even the CPU! Memory is also cheap but 4Gb is pretty much the bare minimum these days for 64bit Win 10 to run well.

would it be able to run Adobe products and multiple apps open?

Bear in mind that a 4 years old i5 should be still plenty decent today, it is not that processor (or 4GB of ram it is 99% coupled with) that is on the last legs but the 5400rpm hard drive in it, replacing it by an ssd should give you a machine that maybe even outperforms this for roughly 30£ and it takes less than half an hour with a screwdriver and following a youtube video. (you can choose whether you want to reinstall windows from scratch to start over or copy some/all of your old data/programs using some tool).
I think I have had at least 10 friends I helped upgrade to SSD, or did it myself for them, and haven't heard any complaints about their "old" laptops being slow since. (Note the list of processors it includes is the first ever edition of i5, a couple of intel dual cores even an AMD E1200, which is pretty bad, seems to fly through normal stuff.

So if you didn't go for the new one you might consider upgrading to ssd, because this new one will after a year or 2 have virtually the same performance as your current one so it is really not worth it. (Of course I am making a couple of assumptions about your system but they are based on some kind of experience).
