Just out of curiosity, why's this so cold?

Cold minus 2.8...just out of curiosity, why's this so cold?

I voted cold because you can get a HD monitor for £60-£80 and about £20-£30 buys a external tuner.

Iom-RF: can you show me an HD monitor and external tuner set up for those prices, please? I've been looking for a relatively cheap set up for our bedroom.

Cheers,

Calum

Yeah, i'm all ears (and eyes) too.

Well, Get your monitor from Ebuyer with the £10 off google checkout (Can get a 17" cheap to")

And the external tuner : Ebay Item number: 230129446339

So you're suggesting getting the cheapest generic monitor money can buy and sourcing a bit of extra external messy kit to adapt it to a TV just for the sake of saving a couple of quid on a premium brand Toshiba that's going to look better and tidier?

Thanks. Didn't know you could get boxes that will work with monitors. It is something I had considered before but was always trying to find a monitor that would accept a PAL signal.

Although I would be concerned that the box on ebay is 60 or 75Hz. May get away with 75 as it's a multiple of the PAL frames per second, but will need a more expensive monitor to be capable of 75Hz. 60Hz would be horrible.

Cheers,

Calum

Your probably going to save alot more than just a couple of quid. I suspect the image quality will be the same, I wouldn't mind having an extra box if it saved me money.

It says price for new ones is from £165, and thats from a guy with rating of 1. Refurb price is £129.92
