I'm surprised that this been greeted so coldly?

Toshiba is a good make.
1.73 Dual Core processor seems OK for an entry level processor.
1GB Ram is just about enough for Vista

It doesn't seem like the worst deal, especially for someone wanting to collect during the Bank Holiday from a retail store....what have I missed? What makes it so bad that it's at -6 degrees?

I'm still looking for a laptop at that price which doesnt allways have integrated graphics...

Here's the picture if someone wants to add it.

why is this being voted cold?

I wanted to get 1

I'd still take this one if you don't mind the wait, the main difference being the 2GB Ram (and cheaper price)

if in no rush, then i certainly wouldn't buy this. the dells quoted above are better, and remember that the new dell deals arrive on thursday - hopefully they'll produce something even better just in time for the student surge...

I'm not sure if you are talking about the Dell deals here. they haven't been increased - did you reduce the warranty to 1-year...?

EDIT: And you can wipe that smile off your face!

Why is this being voted cold?

I would buy a toshiba over a dell anyday...

Edited the title to be more descriptive.

Not much between the builders IMO, for me it's simply a matter of specification and price (at least between these two - some builders I'd avoid).

Yes, apols. My response could have been more helpful. Welcome - I'm nearly still a newbie myself (not sure when the transition happens ;-) )

Voted the tosh hot

Personally I hate dell and would never buy from them. A friend bought the tosh today from pcworld (albeit with a 10% discount ex staff). Seems a crackin little laptop especially for the £360 he paid.
