I've seen this in the Enfield branch also. It's a shame it's not 1080p. Good price regardless.

Might be worth picking up a TV stand or wall bracket while you're at it. They're both around 70% off. I picked up a stand to hold up to 42" for around £30. For smaller sets they were around £27.

Some cheap Toshibas are not designed or made by Toshiba. They are rebadged Vestel TVs, made in Turkey.

Such models include Series 'BV', 'KV', 'AV833', 'DL833' & 'EL833'. This is one of them.

It doesn't matter, if the model has been reviewed by a respected site like HDTVTest, etc. This hasn't, so it's performance is unproven.

Safe bet is to think of this as akin to 'supermarket' brand TVs like Alba, Bush, Hannspree, etc.

My Toshiba has just died, only 22 months old. Amazon don't want to know. Will not be buying another Toshiba that's for sure.

Amazon are trying it on.

1). Sale of Goods Act 1979. Just because an item is cheap, it still has to have durability and be fit for purpose. A television dying after 22 months demonstrates a lack of durability.

2). EU law dictates all electronic tat must now carry a two year warranty. This has been the case for a number of years.

In short, Amazon owe you repair or replacement.

We got this from Best Buy when it was £200. I would say that it's better to compare this to cheap supermarket tv's than to a quality brand. The picture is disappointing - we have 2 small (22") Toshibas with excellent picture and sound - they are much better than this model. It's ok for the money just don't expect too much.

1. Customer has to prove TV had an inherent fault at the time of purchase

2. The UK opted out of that EU by-law.
