While this is a very good price for a 32 inch full HD, I returned 2 of them within a month, as well a JVC. Paid £152 from Currys EBay, with a discount vouchers. First one started acting strange within 2 weeks and developed about 5 faults, the other 2 replacements came both smashed. JVC or Toshiba, there were both identical and very flimsy. While I do not have anything against Vestel, I have not expected both brands to be identical and such poor quality. I've paid £75 extra for a Samsung and no issues so far. Hopefully Amazon can deliver in one piece. And the common price is £199. Didn't vote cold.

Which Samsung did you go for?

I'm after a TV for the kitchen. I've only had Saumsung in the last 10 years. I _thought_ Toshiba were good, but the reviews taste like marmite and even though it's for the kitchen, I'd rather it "just worked".

UE32M5520. Very slim, perfect to put on wall and well built. Got it from Crampton & Moore eBay with code reduced from £295, to £225. Really good. I was not planning to spend much, as it was for the spare bedroom and wanted something cheap. I had before an old Accoustic Solutions. Rubbish brand but lasted 10 years (probably longer, as I've got it second hand and had it for 10 years) and did the job. The 2017-2018 JVC and Toshiba were absolutely rubbish compared to my old and non branded TV.

These have a super annoying issue when a software update is available the led starts flashing at 3am and there is no way to disable it.

Can be worse. Switches itself off sometimes, but the worse is when it switches itself on on full volume at 3 AM:)

Go to settings, advanced settings, then disable auto update. Not rocket science.

This one is good too and definitely worth the extra £20.

There is no such option... Assuming you don't own this TV? When you do first time installation there's an option to disable auto updates but this doesn't stop 3am updates on my set.

So yes not rocket science just poor software.

I own a similar Toshiba TV.

Press home on the remote, go to 'System', then 'Settings' then 'More' then 'Software Upgrade'. Press OK on the remote to give you options for software upgrades
