Voted cold by people, can the cold voters tell me why cos I as going to buy one ?????:?

Its a great tv. I own the 42" version and the picture quality is fantastic. Unfortunately I have a dead pixel in the middle of the screen but the set is being swapped out next week.

Great deal, a friend of mine paid £850 for this in October

look at the contrast ratio

1080p won't look as good on this screen due to the VERY poor contrast ratio. On a 32" 3000:1 can just about cut it.. but 37" 1080p? nah

Spend a hundred or 2 extra and get a 1080p sammy

Do you know what the contrast ratios actually mean ? Have a read of this because high contrast ratio's that are quoted by manufacturers are just a selling tactic that obviously works !

Useful article; I've trialled this tv at length (eventually decided on a panny plasma), and it's a very decent set, the "poor" dynamic contrast ratio quoted doesn't affect it's ability to deliver a decent picture in the slightest.

Thats amazing

If you watch movies in the dark, the samsung has 5 times better contrast ratio.

That WOULD make a difference. So hush.

That article can not be taken seriously. It is COMPLETELY biased saying it doesnt make a different. TO have a credible article worth reading it needs to be fair and take no sides!!!!!!!!!!!! *sigh*

How can facts be biased ? Sound's like you're biased towards Samsung or can you suggest any other brand :?

?? I believe there are LOTS of brands that have better contrast ratio's rofl! just so happens my experience is with samsung

I said the article was biased. Not the facts. The article brings out facts which makes a contrast ratio look irellevant...

However, there are plenty of technical facts to show there are differences (take any standard article on what contrast ratio is)...

Ok there's not much difference between 8000:1 and 10000:1 but, for a 1080p picture in a bad lighting situation, 3000:1 and 15000:1, there is a big difference!

And I believe Sony Bravia has good contrast ratio on their upper range screens? Can't confirm as I dont have one
