Hello! Sorry for my ignorance, but will this fit in a space that has had a standard 1TB HDD removed?

Thx

Yes. The drive will be the same size.

Can't really answer that without knowing what size the HDD was. Was it 2.5" or 3.5"? From a desktop or a laptop?
Thx for the replies. It was a 3.5" HDD from a desktop.
isnt there an issue with hard drives over 2tb? as in it isnt just as simple as plug and play is it? please correct me if i am wrong!

Yes and no. Windows XP won't see over 2TB, so you'd need to partition it to work. In Windows 7, you'll need to format the drive using GPT, for the OS to see the full 3TB.

Not a bad drive. Haven't read any reviews about it, so not sure how quiet it is. Just bought the Seagate 3TB, as I wanted a low powered, quiet drive. Heat for the find though
WIsh the WD drives are this price as am after 4 x 3TB or 4TB drives for a micro server
I took a punt on these and purchased 4 of them to upgrade the ones in my PC and NAS - These are great drives.

Why can't you just use these? I'm in the same boat and was thinking of getting 4 of these...
Very good price for a 3TB drive, heat added. I also wish the WD Red drives were this cheap as I need another 2 or 3 soon.

You can use the Toshiba drives without a problem, but the WD Red drives have lower power consumption and are designed for 24/7 use.

Toshiba DT01ACA300
6.4w r/w
5.2w idle
1 w standby

WD Red
4.4w r/w
4.1w idle
0.6w standby

Not a lot of difference between them but the more you have the bigger the difference.
Down to my last 10Gb on my hard drive, so this is mighty tempting, thanks
Decent price. Shame it's from ebuyer! Hope someone else matches.

I used Amazons 'tell us about a lower price', no idea whether it actually will work or not but worth a try!
Not sure about these drives, seen a few negative reviews..
Will this work/fit with a PS4?
Very good price, and I was close to buying some of these a while back. However, I saw some horror stories circulating and so have decided to wait for WD Green - seem like a safer option!

No, you need a 2.5" internal SATA drive, this is 3.5".

Success! Now I am wondering whether I want the drive, has 2 year warranty + Amazon should keep me happy though.

I have one in the basket, my finger keeps hovering over buy. This is cheap and they have stubbornly refused to drop further than this, so thinking this might be as good as it gets for some time.

Amazon do that all the time but I've never actually had to wait anything like that long.
^^ Yeah, would be great if Amazon matched! I can't seem to find it either

Edit: Sorry, didn't know there was a page 2...

2-4 weeks is a bit extreme, I could probably wait though. Is it the same drive/spec as Ebuyer's offering?

Amazon now says In stock on October 2, 2013. You'll get it quicker from ebuyer but I'd rather rub soap in my eyes than buy from there. Still, each to their own retailer!

It's the same apart from at Amazon robots collect your drive from within a high tech storage system that looks like the future. At ebuyer a man with greasy hair throws your drive into a big skip with a sign on it saying "stuff wot is been bought"

Ha, I always used to use Ebuyer, and have actually never had a problem with their prices or service, but this year they changed couriers and since then EVERYTHING I attempt to buy incurs at least a £10 surcharge because their new carrier treats my address as 'the Channel Islands.' Even the free delivery stuff. I live on the Isle of Wight and have been ordering thousands of pounds worth of stuff (with free delivery where applicable) for over 12 years but all I got of their customer support ticket was, "sorry, we've changed companies and they charge extra to deliver to the Channel Islands" - that despite my protests of not living in the Channel Islands... I gave up at that point

Dabs get most of my business now.

Thanks! Ordered 4!!
Ebuyer are a crap company.. you wont wait 2-4 weeks with amazon
make sure you get the right drive.. check the feedback on amazon.. one guy got a 2tb and another 1tb lol
Used to order loads from ebuyer, but after I returned a faulty tablet, And only got a partial refund dew to their 6 month policy, despite there being a year warranty on it, I will never be getting anything from ebuyer while this policy is in effect.

I ordered these off ebuyer the last time they were cheap. The packaging was impoverished so not risking it again. They are very quick drives.

The best way to get these was the deal where they came with a 3 year warranty in retail packing. The retail packing really keeps the drive safe.
Could this replace my sky hd 250gb hard drive?

My 3TB drive was packaged nestled in a box within a box with 3-4 cm thick foam padding on all sides! Direct from Amazon.co.uk. Needless to say I was impressed. The 2TB WD Green Power drive I ordered subsequently let me down though; packaged in a single box without padding, but some sort of egg carton like hard cardboard slots on either end to stop the drive from moving.

Both seem fine so far though! Even the WD drive!

Yeah it could, no problem

Fitting it may be an issue though...

Here is the exact model if it's helpful: medion-akoya-p7300-d. I'm sure I read somewhere recently that the physical size of drives over 1tb gets bigger? Cheers
