"Not sure if its national" - erm, let me answer that for you - NO!

Tesco are posting one or two heavily reduced items at random stores to generate publicity on sites like this one. Well done anyone who gets one but unless there were lots in the store you bought yours (which i doubt), then please save the rest of us from having to trawl through them all to see the genuinely available deals.

And peeps, PLEASE STOP voting them hot! Unless you actually managed to get one!

What a twit you are J4GG4, your mother must be so proud

Im a twit for telling the truth?? ok, you northerners keep living your fake lives. Truth of the matter is, ive been looking at supermarket deals on HUKD for a few years now. NOT ONCE has a 'cheapo' deal popped up in my area or surrounding 30 miles. NOT ONCE. So i can only presume its aimed at pea**** areas looking to offload the 'cheap tat' to people who can afford the 'cheap ones'. Its a marketting trick. Not saying YOUR a pea**** but there certainly is a major part in your area that is.

Please tell me exactly what i did wrong? apart from shedding the truth about northerners? :-). These deals in supermarkets are aimed/targetted at these types of areas. Fact.

ever wondered why for instance the cinema is more expensive in certain parts of london compared to the north areas of the uk? Ever wondered why a 1 bed flat can be 1million in london but up north 20k ??. so what i speak is the truth and anyone who objects i would only presume your mothers are very much rejected you at some point in your life and your living off the dole and look like the guy from shameless?

P.S voted neutral

Yeh, I've read that cheaper Toshibas are nowadays manufactured by Vestel and come rebadged in a variety of guises. More expensive Toshibas are still Japanese made. But surely the software and processing would be different to a Technika or Bush?

I've had my Toshiba for a few years now and it's been a fantastic telly, but it was higher-end at the time.

Still voted hot as Tesco is doing some amazing deals right now..and I'm going to head to my 24hr one shortly. Last time I went at a late hour, the electronics department was cordoned off! (It isn't usually).

I live in Glasgow..right at the city centre, and there's a few Tesco Extras within 2 miles or so. And I've got some cracking bargains, last one was the Karcher steam cleaner at £32 instead of £120-odd (it's still online at various places). So, I'm not sure I understand his argument. I'm hardly out in the sticks.

(Though being a Scot is probably worse in his eyes than being a Northerner :)!). A deal is a deal, don't get what this guy is so ANGRY about.

okay - so who has actually managed to get one of these (other than OP)...

I don't doubt the deal is real, but deals like this are so limited in scope, with something like 3 units in the entire country, that I can't help but feel that such deals get a disproportionate amount of attention, just because it has the words "Tesco", "Toshiba" and "TV" in the title.

we need a better system. maybe a section for one-off items separate from the main section

I live in Worthing - you can't get much further South - and I have picked up quite a few deals from supermarkets via this site.

How can tesco guarantee that a cheaply sold one-off Tv will end up on this site? It's popular but it doesn't have the whole population as members.

As for mentioning house prices and fake lives - ckollobs, have you ever left London? Do you think there are no expensive properties and areas in every region of the country? House prices in London are, like everything else, based on supply and demand - they don't build many to keep the prices up.

Dont normally respond to stuff like this but this really was a classic. I've read many strange, sometimes complete rubbish on this site but what wrote really deserves an award.

Before you wrote what you wrote, did you not stop and think, perhaps in very simple terms the main reason why some parts of London are more expensive than most parts of the rest of the world let alone the north is because its just happens to be one of the major financial capitals in the world. Yes a cinema ticket in Leicester square is going to cost more than any cinema in Preston or Keighley but again im sure the prices are likely to be similar to Tottenham and Brixton. The same is true for the 1 million flats you mention. Yea sure a flat in Kennington and Chelsea which happens to be one of the most expensive areas of real estate in the country is hardly a fair comparison with even other parts of London let alone a 1 bedroom flat in moss side.

Anyway well done on your amazingly insightful remarks J4GG4, God knows where the site would be without you.

Satan

I agree it's annoying, and I've been on wild goose chases for TVs and phoned Tesco branches only to come away empty-handed (looking for one for my sister currently).

The thing with in-store clearance deals is that they're an unknown quantity as it's a nationwide retailer; but surely having the information here is better than not knowing at all?

You do sound like a twit.

I think where you went wrong was assuming that everyone outside of London lives and works down a coal mine or something, this is probably down to poor education and a complete lack of travel.

I imagine a man of the world such as yourself wouldn't have need of such travel as you would be more than content sitting in one of those pokey 1 bed apartments that cost £1m imagining yourself to be in the upper echelons of society.

I'm not trying to encourage you to venture out of your comfort zone and come visit the north for a reeducation, I can assure you we are more than happy for narrow minded idiots such as yourself to remain exactly where you are.

I also see the irony of such an active user of this site implying other users must be peasants completely escaped you, for that sir, you are indeed a twit.

(Check out my avatar - we sometimes don't use knives and forks either.... god help us!)

This deal is not in the north, but PLYMOUTH, which is also not Pompey!

I happen to live in the area (damn, that makes me a peasant then!) but don't shop in Tesco so heat from me - and the OP clearly stated there were a couple of them he could see and that it may not be national, so what's the problem?

What a load of rubbish, I live in essex and my sister in yorkshire... yet I have purchased 6 of these tesco deal's and theres been none availiable in her area in the last week. It goes to show these tesco deals aren't targetting certain area's because of their lack of wealth/standing.

You come accross as both rude and prejudgemental. Those two charactaristics are not in the spirit of this website.

Edited by: "daz316" 18th Sep 2011

Maybe the rich are buying them all to sell on ebay and make more cash?!

Shouldn't deals like this be legitimately 'Expired' after say 24hrs, if no other person has managed to find and confirm at this price?

I think calling people 'peasants' or describing an area as a 'peasant area' is a SURE FIRE way of getting off on a bad foot on HUKD!!! oO

Put another £50 in and actually buy a TV online. Judging by the reviews for this, that extra money would be worth it.

Northerners!!

I’m proud to be from Newcastle & seem to remember a few weeks ago that the best EVER deals were down south?

Mind you the shops involved did have no windows at the time LMAO.

I’ve lived in many areas of Europe & the UK and would still prefer to live “up north” My wife is from Tring & she also prefers to live “up north”

Surely the moderators on this great site, should start giving warnings & bans to the people who spend 90% of their time on here moaning & picking faults with postings?

If a deal is posted & is any good for you then vote it hot, if not then look for another…..simple!

You've been a member on here for quite some time, put me to shame with the numbers of deals posted and contributed to numerous topics.

I also see that you're quite the deal hunter too. As are the rest of us on here. The satisfaction of getting a good deal is irresistible regardless of what neck of the woods you're from.

Your details say you drive a Mercedes and live in Berkshire. Sounds like you're doing great. Unfortunately though you aren't doing great are you?. Perhaps it's the stress of your job, the banking/mortgage sector woes or just simply the Mrs giving you grief when you get home from work. It could also be that you have a low self worth and that is why you lunge out at others with flippant and clearly argument provoking comments about their self worth and their jobs?.

I'm guessing here though that it's none of the above and that you're a lad in your late teens / early twenties with an average service industry job paying less the going rate for the south. You've an 03 reg c-class mercedes that gets Maguire'd every weekend and the neighbours frequently give your parents feedback on the tone of your exhaust and the strange sounds eminating from within it's recently vacuumed interior.

You don't drive far partly because you dont use maps and can't think of an aspiring postcode for your satnav. You enjoy going out for beers with your mates but you look a bit out of place in a nightclub hence the sudden urge to get out your Ipad 1 (hukd - T G Hughes) and inject the final insult to the rest of your country men / women before going to bed alone.

Maybe there aren't any of these TVs in London because they were looted by Raffles The Gentleman Thief and his other well-heeled accomplices as they had their jolly jaunt through the most delightful areas of this emerald isle?

I live in Newcastle and it has its rough parts but **** hell, don't pretend much of London isn't a **** hole.

Peasants indeed...
