Great Price but crap tele for any fast motion sports like footy & F1 beware

It's maybe not the 'best' tv in the world, but at this price, the 5 year guarantee AND with the 'extras', I'm surprised it is not much hotter. Have some heat.

this is definitely hot. people are probably voting cold as they are probably comparing it to the similar deal which was £230.30 42" M&S LED 1080p etc with a 5 year warranty. this is £200 more but with a blu ray player (not sure how much its worth) and a proper brand name surely it is hot but perhaps not as hot as the other deal. hence the cold or neutral votes

Got this recently with free blu ray player and lovefilm sub, great package for the price. TV is not bad and the sound quality is much better than my expensive sony TV

how does this compare to the sony lcd model something something 523?

very hot deal.

Brilliant price for full hd freeview hd and internet tv.

Got this a couple of weeks ago when the same offer was on, it's been pretty good so far! Sports are fine on it, I've watched plenty of football and no problems.

Bit dissapointed with the sound on this to be honest my samsung LCD of 5 years old is alot better. Never mind surround sound is on it's way.

It is a good deal, especially with 12 months of Lovefilm too ...

one of the reviews on Toshiba site says :
"not full led,it's lcd with led feature"

anyone explain what this means?!
thanks

It doesn't pretty much the same as LCD except alot thinner!

A proper LED TV of this size would run into the thousands!

see here for the price of a 15" one

I don't think it matters whether it's designed / made by Toshiba or Vestel, since it has several reviews to show it's a decent TV. Post #4 above refers. Sony & Philips don't manufacture TVs any more, so Toshiba would be in good company.

would the tv or dvd play divx via usb?

Looking for some help please. Currently searching for a decent 40"+ smart tv with 3d for no more than £500. Have seen the following 3 and was hoping for some opinions or if anyone knows of a better deal please let me know. Thanks in advance:

I got one it's not bad. Picture quality seems very good to me, but I have turned off all the gizmos like resolution+. It seems to me that res+ makes some scenes look nicer but others worse. This Tv definately has very noticeable much better PQ than my older smaller toshiba LCD.

Bad points though on at least my set are,
the 'greens' are a bit over the top, I have to turn the colour way down on the footy to avoid my eyes burning out from the neon green pitch.
On fast panning shots i can see a vertical ripple effect which i think is the lights/frame behind the screen, very noticable on football and moto-gp.
Also i find the viewing angle really limited with the screen getting very much dimmer at even a 45 degree angle from 6 or 7 feet away.
Sound is tinny, but i expect it's the same for all TV's this thin.
errm also the stand didn't fit correctly and i had to put in my own washers to make the Tv stand up straight.

I did originally consider sending it back, but in the end I decided that for 95% of my viewing it's really very nice, especailly the PQ in SD and HD.

there is a new firmware out for this tv on toshiba's website the date is 24/11/2011

thx, I tried updating before with the network cable but that always failed. So have just now updated using USB with the 24/11 firmware (seems to be the same firmware as before but 1.001 version), I hope it's toned down the lit up 'greens' a bit, i can't tell atm with the kids watching the cartoon channels, which are looking very nice.

not a bad tv,was lokking at it in curry's yest!! a bargain with the extras!!

Yeah that was from quidco. I received an email before from them saying the above, and that 10% applies to all items for until tomorrow at 4pm.

Nice little scam coming your way here, Marks and Spencer say delivery is 2 weeks and you have just 2 weeks to register your TV from purchase to get the lovefilm promotion, hhhmmm.

Smells like the Samsung cashback deal on their printers, etc no one supplying stocks until after the offer has finished.

The TV will be delivered before the 2 weeks anyway, I ordered mine on a Friday night and received it the following friday.

M&S called asked if that Friday was ok and then I got a call Friday morning stating a 2 hour delivery slot! Good service!

Brownrooster that might have been then but I just find it funny that they actually put in on their websites on the front page of their technology section and say delivery is in 2 weeks ? which is afer the love film registration ?, it's a significant drop.

Has anybody got one of these TV's ?

i got a phone call from M&S delivery team, delivery of tv is going to be this tuesday (4 day delivery, not bad at all). hope this helps

Divx and/or mkv files play on TV or bluray player anyone?
cheers

Did anyone buy this before 3pm so as to get the cashback? Mine has tracked, and quidco have tracked the correct amount but the earnings are listed at £0.00 ??
Edited by: "davew2011" 4th Dec 2011

Yep I ordered at about 1am and got the same tracked at zero at the moment probably because they are not delivering it yet, though the blu-ray has been despatched for delivery already.

ahh I'll keep an eye on it and update in that case, although I have already asked quidco support so if their response is helpful I'll post it.
thanks
