Argos/Tesco/Currys but the link takes you to Staples?
Interesting one, decent headline specs for the price, but I always think of Toshiba as, well a bit crap.
this or the Hitachi for bit more....
Topcashback or quidco available?
Do curry's still do price matching where they refund difference plus 10%?

that is what you should use when watching a film. Even the better makes do say to lower to minimum when watching films
Currys DO still price match certain other competitors (but no longer take off an additional 10%)

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/price-promise-1023-theme.html

Obviously in this case they wouldn't price match Staples as it's not on the list of stores they'll match

Staples do a price match scheme where they give you back 10% of the difference - its only with retailers that have stores though (eg PC world / Argos etc...)

If I had one I'd be all over this... People get randomly mailed them if you have ordered in the past - used to be that after your first order you got a code too - no guarantees though!

Hi guys. Does this TV have wireless standard 802.11N or 802.11AC? I ask this because I don't have the possibility of using a wire. The router is not in my room (shared house). Thank you!
I bought this TV from Curry's in January and unlike more expensive makes it has 4 HDMI connections that are all HDMI 2 and HDCP 2.2 capable.

4K demo content from YouTube is amazing and as good as anything I have seen.

I do not think anyone would be disappointed with this TV but when I contacted Toshiba to ask which 3D glasses I needed for it they said they did not actually make I and could not help me as it was made under licence.
The correct glasses for it are the FPT-AG04G ones :
3D Glasses

I bought two pairs off eBay for just under £14 delivered.

Thank you Sandra!
It seems that it doesn't have 802.11ac...
But still... do you have an 802.11ac router? Can you try connecting the TV to the 5GHz band?

Sorry Michael I have mine wired as I have gigabit switches in each room that I need internet access on.

I only have around a 35mbps download on my line though and that streams 4K YouTube videos fine so I think you would need to have a poor wifi connection if you could not better that from your router, even with others sharing.
One more thing. I have a small room, so I don't really need a 4K TV this big.

I've Googled a little and I found these two TVs:
Philips 43PUT4900 43 Inch 4K Ultra HD philips.co.uk/c-p…ons & price http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4559430.htm

Hitachi 43HGT69U 43 Inch 4K Ultra HD hitachidigitalmedia.com/en-…69u

Does any of you have any opinion on which one should I choose?

Thank you!
8% cashback via quicdo
also staples seem to give you 3yr warranty as well, which is good.
Downloaded a copy of the user manual for this and just about all of it is identical to the Digihome 4K TV posted earlier.

The guide talks of both 2.4 and 5Ghz Wireless.

This of course has the additional 3D functionality plus HBBTV (Freeview Plus).

So for an extra £46 the 3D looks a nice option to have.

The user manual states that 1080p and 4K are only supported up to 30Hz on all ports, which means 1.4, not 2.0.

Hi Reddit, where did you get this information from? I've just searched the user manual from Argos and it says 60Hz on both 1080P and 4K is available (O) under AV and HDMI Signal Compatibility. Sorry if this is a different thing, I haven't bough a new TV in years!

Hi

The (O) is only show against the 30Hz entry in the list.

Although I suppose that it could signal that it means that it is across the range.

With manufacturers using any trick in the book to get people to but their products though, I'm just cynical

Hi mate,

How are you?

Do you have an opinion regarding which one should I choose from this list?

HISENSE 40M3300 - 4k, qual core

PHILIPS 40PUT6400 - 4k, Android TV, dual core

TOSHIBA 40U7653DB - 4k, dual core, 3D

I'm interested in buying a 40 inch 4K, which has USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0, WiFi 802.11AC if possible.

Thanks,
Michael.

Haha, I see your point. I just guessed the comma meant that it included all but they couldn't fit it on one line like the 50 Hz, 60 Hz in 1080i box

There isn't much to choose from with those 3 machines, so, in the same position I would trawl the net for a few hours looking at both independent and customer reviews and partially make the decision from that.

In terms of a supplier, you will find that the likes of Richer Sounds may have better warranties or warranty options, so would take that into account too.

Finding AC WiFi on sets at this price level will be nigh on impossible. Even dual band might be rarer than you might think.

For those that purchase I hope that you are right and me wrong.
I found the manual for Philips: richersounds.com/static/manuals/put6400.pdf
At page 121 it says this:
Connections
• USB 2.0
• Ethernet LAN RJ-45
• Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (built-in) - so it has WiFi AC standard apparently
• BT2.1 with EDR & BT4.0 with BLE
Supported USB file systems
• FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS

Did any of you guys bought a product 5 years ago from richersounds.com to have the chance to test the 6 years guarantee? I don't know what to believe...

Update: Hi Guys. I just bought the 40" Philips from Richer Sounds, but I only played with it for about 1 hour.
So far I can say this:
-Build quality is not so good (cheap plastic).
-It doesn't have WiFi 802.11AC standard, even if the manual says it has.
-The 4K Upscaler is working nice, not perfect.
-While playing an upscaled 1080p, it has some motion blur even with natural motion at maximum level. I am still testing this part because it can do better, I know it.
-4K YouTube videos look good.
-Sound is ok for a small room.
-Menu navigation is snappy.
-Completely turning off the TV & peripherals takes about 10 seconds, because of the Android OS.

I'll keep you updated in the next following days.

As Jamiedb has already said the manual shows that all frequencies are available from 24hz to 60hz up to 4096 x2160p as listed here :

I have also checked in the settings menu of my TV and for each of the 4 HDMI ports it has the option for Disabled, Regular or Enhanced.

Under the supported formats for USB it includes all the usual ones plus HEVC resolution 4K2K@60fps 160mpbs.

Hope this clarifies things as it is always better to get information from the TV itself rather than misinterpreting any sales blurb or hype.

If you want a 48 inch 4K Smart 3D capable TV for very little money then you will be very happy with this model.
Also it has a flat screen and not one of those odd looking curved ones like the more expensive Samsung ones.
