Why is this so cheap? 55" for little over £400

So I'm gonna just go for this because there are way too many tvs n I am getting way too overwhelmed as I do not have a clue what I should be looking for lol! I did prefer not to get a smart TV but hey at this price I may aswell take the plunge! Thanks op. Was gonna go for 55inch but 49inch saves a big chunk and is more appropriate size wise for the room it's for!

This doesnt do HDR, the hisense for £10 less does

Yeah, built in WiFi but will also have an Ethernet port

Voted cold because it is an audiovisual deal and not a computer deal. Please can we have some discipline in adding categories or they become worthless and mess up finding real deals.

That's not particularly cheap for a budget TV like this, Offerings from this manufacturer (Vestel) is always this sort of price under one brand name or another. Although It's always difficult to tell which of their TVs are good value because there's so little information about their range onlie.

The only hdr it does is the ability to accept an HDR signal and display it in SDR. That's only of any value if you expect their to be HDR-exclusive content within the lifetime of a budget TV (5 years?). I'd say that's very unlikely personally.

More clampets who won't deliver to norn iron

It will be a cheap Turkish Vestel TV with a Toshiba badge. Likely to fail within 2 years so you would want a 5-6 year warranty on it if you must buy it. I'd buy from a manufacturer which actually makes the TV's themselves - LG or Samsung.

I'll vote hot to counter your vote. I'm not sure if that's the OP's fault or a quirk of the new HUKD website? - there seems to be many deals in the wrong categories these days. Among other odd quirks such as hitting the back button and finding yourself in a different category than where you were .

Lol the point is some great specs are available on third party manufacturers with a badge, the less you pay the more the chance of a third party. Hisense bought 95% of Toshiba TV in the last few days so support is probably away to get better since 2015 Compal have held the Toshiba TV rights in US & EU - they make loads of the big brands TVs and laptops (worlds second largest laptop manufacturer) en.m.wikipedia.org/wik…ics
