Take into consideration that it is an LCD TV - not the preferred LED TV …Take into consideration that it is an LCD TV - not the preferred LED TV that you see everywhere now.

That's a pretty massive point. I'm clearly not prepared.

incorrect, the item pictured in Tesco is an LED TV

LED TV's use an LCD screen with LED backlight.

LED TV is just a specific type of LCD TV. The proper name for any LED would actually be “LED-backlit LCD TV"

Which is exactly what is written on the box of this Toshiba TV, you will see written on the reverse of the box pictured "LED backlight TV"

This is probably the best deal on a 49 inch 4k TV, excellent TV for someone on a budget. If you are wanting better then you need to spend £600+.

I've been searching this site for reviews of this TV since I saw it this morning.

Thought I was just failing to find a post, as was sure it must have been posted/commented on. Does anyone have an opinion on this Toshiba? I know there is some bad reviews of Toshibas, but not of this specific model. It looks a good deal to me. Seems to have the HDR, but is it any good? Can't find anything online except for spare remotes.

Really trying to narrow the search for a new 49"£ sub £400. Would spend more but confused... .should I get this? Help please folks.
I was just in the Shoreham on Sea store and they have some too. Was very tempted but resisted.

Lacks in tv apps, literally has none.
The quality is okay but I do regret not spending an extra £100 for a better known brand which would have a better interface and a longer warranty period

Ok thanks, that's enough to make me pause. I'm happy to pay more if I can just zero down on a decent set. Do a lot of gaming so ideally need some latency stats, but I fear I'm not going to get enough time to research any TVs before the day is out.

I mean it will do the job but unless you’re on a tight budget, I would strongly suggest spending a bit more on maybe a lg or samsung tv for a more quality build and better features! Good luck man

Oooh... ok that's a very positive review. I've tried on the review site above but slight changes on model number could be significant.
Good tv brilliant sound no need of soundbar at all(unless u want to party) for extra 10 quid from Richer Sounds u got 6 years warranty. U know its not oled and to get nocer picture u neet to re-ajust screen settings. But for this price u can't expect quality of 1000 quid worth tv. For me its worth evee penny. Bad points: limited apps and no hard copy of manual

I bought this this morning. Has Netflix, Facebook and more I forget. Also 2 band WiFi, ethernet and hdmi arc, 3 hdmi in total. No complaints so far.
Not bothered about apps. We have all that through sky.

Richer Sounds is offering a similar 43 inch Toshiba for £10 more, possibly a newer model and good warranty. If wanting a smaller screen, I would go for the 43" on Richer Sounds (Same price on currys)

People tend to only write reviews when they have something bad to say, all TVs around this price will have similar reviews, some good, some bad from people expecting more than what they paid for. You are looking at the lowest budget 4k TV, if you want better then you need to spend the money.

The TV from Tesco is great, I just went and bought one myself, upgrading my bedroom TV which was a 720p 32 inch Samsung (about 10 years old). The difference is huge, and for my needs and budget it's perfect.
Does it have amazon player?
Just stood in Tesco looking for a review on this none nowhere never a good sign so walked away
I am struggling to download manual any tips for this one?
Anyone who has bought one able to confirm what apps it has and a mini review?
On their TV website, Toshiba say they have removed all apps that has to do with Google. So it seems it will be a limited App TV, not so very smart then it seems.

I bought one from Tesco and hour ago but am now thinking of returning it although these TVs are for sale on eBay for £340 and £428 + £15 delivery . I suppose the sellers are unaware of Tesco deals

For the toshiba site details - gives some of the app/features. I've gone for it and bought one. Won't be set up till the morning though but I'll give feedback then. Superviser said keep the receipt and full refund if i don't like it. Happy days.

U press home button and then scroll down to picture settings. But u need to be on tv mode not hdmi
I just got the last one in North Shields. Fella reckoned I could return it if I didn’t like it. It looks a lot of tv and it’s only going to get used by the kids for TiVo and Xbox
Bought mine this morning. Seems great to me for the price. Picture quality is great and the sound is really good for the money. As expected with any TV that wasn't an Android system, the UI is rubbish so I got a 4k Fire Stick for £35 from Argos (I was gonna do that if I paid £380 for the LG in PC World), which works great with it. My only problem is the Wi-Fi antenna for the TV is very poor, the Fire Stick works fine in the same location, but I expected that as the £1000 Sony we have downstairs is rubbish in that regard too, so at a quarter of the price what do you expect? Very pleased overall.
Brought one to replace old Samsung in the bedroom . Delighted with it , excellent picture and sound is very good for a flat screen.
Thanks both , would appreciate others picture settings

No worries, thought i was goin mad haha

No
I'm really disappointed, very poor app choice and very uneven lighting, dark scenes have a lot of light towards the corners.
I know from previously buying cheap tv's that they just irritate me too much. It's going back.

Just interest in knowing what the blacks are like in a dark room? I know it has D-led so should be good blacks, but I haven't been able to find out if this is an IPS screen or a VA screen.

£269 seems a bargin price for the TV, not expecting £800-£1200 tv performance!

It seems okay to me maybe a little on the blue side to my eye but certainly really good performance. I also noticed it has 3 HDMI ports unlike some of it's competitors.36232924-gL3N7.jpg

After playing with the picture settings and changing it to dynamic I'm pleased with the quality of the picture .

Overall happy with the purchase and for the price it's good so far .

Not overly impressed with the instruction manual though .
