I think this is a great deal for an LED Smart TV
I know there is a £480 50" 50 Hz TV doing the rounds, but it is plasma and not SMART, nor does it have an Ethernet socket and 50Hz will put some users off

This TV is 100Hz, HD, 50 inch LED SMART, includes Freeview and supports DNLA

Also you can record from freeview by plugging in a USB stick

4 HDMI ports
Ethernet socket
The only thing it doesn't have is HD freeview, but for the sake of 3 or 4 HD freeview channels I can live with normal TV

List price is £499 with Pixmania, a couple of hundered more elsewhere
I got mine down to 485 with the code PIXUKNOV14

From the website...

Enjoy movies and online entertainment on the Toshiba 50L4333DF's LED Direct display.

Boasting wireless connectivity, this 1080p HDTV provides access to the Toshiba cloud portal with a range of online services (social networks, games et.), practical apps (email, calendars) and other smart features.

The 50-L4333 -DF analyses your choices to suggest programmes that match your taste. The MediaGuide also provides information about the shows you watch, allows you to share them on social networks and creates a selection of favourite channels.

Stream media files over your home network via DLNA, WiDi and MHK, and control the TV with a smarpthone using the Mobile High Definition Link. You can even stream files from your computer and display them on the 50 L4333 via the Wireless Display Link. And record your favourite shows straight to a USB-enabled device with the PVR function.

The Toshiba 50L4333 -DF intensifies the movie experience with a frequency of 100Hz AMR, a digital comb filter and MPEG noise reduction for particularly clear, crisp pictures in all circumstances.

This TV does not have a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD capture.
SMART TV services may not be available in certain countries.

Best spec I can see for the money

I would have took the 399 LG plasma but I need smart for streaming and want to lose my Sky box, waste of money

It does have Freeview HD, but I'd want FreeSat HD instead. I'd prefer a Plasma anyway.

I would definitely want the Freeview HD no doubt about it, but i think your better off keeping your streaming separate to the TV, so the smart bit wouldn't bother me at all. + pixmania i would seriously think twice

Everyone to their own i suppose.

If you want LED this would be your better bet imo

11. Returns
For any returned package, please go to your Pix & I space and follow the return instructions.

Please note that products must be returned in France. oO

Please note that shipping fees are the client’s responsibility, except if the product does not conform to the description of said product (the client is responsible for any damage done during the shipping of the returned goods).

Good price, but Pixmania is a no-go.
So much disgruntled feedback and unfriendly returns policies.

Id rather stream from a NAS device using DNLA rather than plugging the laptop into the TV with a HDMI cable like I do now, that's my reason for needing the SMART features anyway

As far as freeview HD goes, how many channels do you actually get in HD? 4?

That's 50hz though and seen it a few months ago in John Lewis, didn't think the picture was very good compared to my old 46" Toshiba so got this

Hi mate I'm in the middle of moving apartment so its sat in the box at the moment, however I found a reviee for the 40 in ch model and it was really positive
yeah the smart stuff works through WIFI and it has an Ethernet connection as well
You connect the TV to your router, from here there are a number of things you can do
You can then hook up a NAS box to the router and then you can access the nas box via the remote control and play your downloads or view your pictures, play your music etc
It has the Toshiba app on there so you can connect to Skype, Iplayer and stuff like that as well as opening up webpages on the bigscreen
Its WIDI compatible which is an Intel Inside feature which lets you duplicate the laptop screen to the TV screen (like hooking up to a projector)
I am yet to find a freeview TV with record and pause built in, I thinks its because the hard drive it too big to fit into a slim screen - so what really appealed to me - as I don't want to hook a box up to the TV is that you can plug in a USB stick, and then you have the option to pause and record live TV onto the stick for playback

I cancelled my sky, and I just want to mount the TV with no wires connecting to a sky box or freeview box dvd etc, I just want the TV on the wall and I can just play everything via my nas or on the freeview

sorry if I sound condescending but you asked how it works so that's my way of explaining!
You can download an app on your phone to control stuff but I haven't looked into that yet

does anyone read the description or specs?
It has a freeview HD tuner... it would appear that you can't record from it (i assume unto a usb pvr)
It is smart - it has an ethernet socket and wifi connectivity. And specifically states BBC iPlayer and Netflix....

Everyone's read the line "This TV does not have a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD capture." and made up their own meaning.

For the record this model; has freeview but not HD, it also has smart features through Cloudtv. The efatures are ok, picture quality is reasonable but not exceptional. I got one though as cheap for 50"
