I doubt it, they'll be making the most money they can from the short term loan you're giving them.

Pricey for a Vestel. The Polaroid, DigiHome, Technika branded equivalents are often on offer at £350 or so - they'll be using the exact same Chassis as this "Toshiba"

So you're still not going to explain it then? Thanks for the info lol

So I've had this TV for a week now. Purchased the other week from AO when was at £529. I previously had a Samsung HD Ready 50" plasma that gave up. This was the best value TV at the time as I wanted 4 permanent HDMI ports for around £500 matching the same Vesa mounting pattern as I didn't want to get a new bracket.

A couple of points of note:
Visually, & coming from HD Ready, the quality is very pleasing. I've had a play from default settings and now have it to satisfaction. The wireless works really well - no faults there. Only use the youtube app on the TV for testing 4k - again the quality is very impressive. Speed of people moving in some programs created some noticeable pixilation on SD channels, but not enough to bother me. I think the pixilation may be down to the source as I played Avatar through the Blu-ray and it looked stunning.

Sound: Not great - Sounds a bit muffled - So we also use the soundbar when required.

Startup: Not the biggest issue, but there is about a 7 second delay from switching on to the picture/channel appearing.

Mounting: Purchased because this is a 400 x 200 Vesa mount and wanted to swap the tv myself. Please note though, that the fixing points on the TV are much lower (top fixing points start just below halfway on the TV), therefore the tv does not hang in the same position, and is much higher up the wall.

Overall I'm pleased with it for the money I paid. My old TV lasted from 2011 until I started messing with it so I hope to get the same out of years out of this too.
