Yep. We have brexiteers to blame for that

Nothing to do with brexit at all. It's actually a global shortage in flash memory - not just UK affected... Everything that uses flash memory is more expensive now, and prices aren't expected to recover until next year either..

You lot make me laugh. We constantly see cracking deals on here, some stuff cheaper than ever. Amazing how silent you lot are then. Yet, the slightest hint of a price rise, compared to a year or a few months back and you lot are on it like a fly around ..... with your stupid, irrelevant comments.

I bought one of these at the end of the year and, touch wood, it's been all good. Works just fine with 4K in my Pany GX80 camera.

Thanks

Is this any good for a dash cam?

I can buy now and have delivered in an hour. Cant be that much of a shortage.

I was really annoyed putting off buying an SD card last year when the prices were so good. I waited to get one when I got my new phone thinking they would fall further, terrible move!

Shortage of flash memory due to high demand (what doesn't use memory these days) plus the fact there are only a small amount of factories making them has made prices rocket.

Any good for a Go Pro 5?

Not entirely convinced on the whole high demand short supply argument. Think the market prices are being fixed this high because people will pay it. Remember the floods in thailand that rocketed hard drive prices sky high? The prices never truly recovered like they "predicted" they would and storage costs an arm and a leg these days regardless of the medium. In short, I wouldn't expect to see the prices come down soon other than the odd bargain deal you might find on here

Guess depends on your grasp of economics.
Oil/ Fuel prices could be a similar example of something that goes up and down on price depending on the production of oil across the world but still remains readily available.

Thats market mainpulation, nothing to do with whats available, its to do with what they want available. Two different things. Just as in this case.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You can say this about anything, if you'd invested in Bitcoin in 2009, you'd likely be a millionaire now. Buy something when you need it is the rule. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.

Remember the days... They are U1 though and this is U3. Don't actually know what the difference is, just read that people highly recommend the U3 over the U1.

I love how the earlier brexit / non brexit blame was split 50/50 in likes for both!

This is a U3 card so apart from the ebuyer deal this is better than everything you posted. Unless of course you don't need U3 but it's an important distinction.

And when products are priced internationally in USDollars, the plunging pound makes them more expensive, so we can thank all those people who believed in Farage's lies for making our lives more expensive!!!!

wow, I had not noticed memory cards were so expensive now, but judging by the heat, I guess it's a good price then?

I was looking to buy 5x 64GB but I had the idea it should be around £50, current prices would take the bundle to almost £100,wth!

I think I might just buy one for now... or wait a little to see if any offers appears in the next few weeks.

I just looked at prices all over the EU, including Germany and the prices are more or less the same, if not more expensive! Whats that got to do with Brexit? Can you show me some links where the OP's memory card is cheaper in another EU country?

I am certainly not paying the inflated prices they are asking now, you could get 128GB for around this price before so I will wait it out.

Don't know but just saying I have one and compared to my SanDisk card, it is noticeably slower.

I grabbed a 128gb SanDisk from cex for £28.

I know it's used and unboxed. But after tests was a legit, fairly cheap card for my phones storage.

True, I'm visiting Germany/central Europe at least 3 times/year, always checking for good deals on electronic/camera gear. Never manage to find something cheaper than in UK, at least that I was looking for.

It is Apple and the iPhone 8 that is part responsible for the worldwide flash memory (nand) storage problem. [Here]

Thanks. Just snagged a couple of these - pretty good price and ideal for 4k

Yep!, I agree with you!. :-(

The shift of the tide has 'shifted' a wee bit of late, huh?.

Unfortunately for alllllll of us, those cheap as chips price's are possibly never to be repeated again?.

I too also recall buying several rounds of Kingston 64GB MicroSD Card's on Amazon for only £11.24, and £11.45 at it's most! (and alllll were around January/February last Year sort of time?).

And even then I was a bit peeved that I'd missed the boat on when the same was only £11.14 some few moments before ...

Irony, no?.

I believe we'll allllll need to polish off the dust on our Flux Capacitor's to get those day's of lore back ...

Lool. :-)
