Reasonably well priced Toshiba A100 Laptop. A cheap ram upgrade from Crucial would make it a great college/uni laptop.

-- Windows Vista Home basic Edition
-- 512Mb DDR2 RAM
-- 60Gb (5400rpm) hard drive
-- 15.4in TFT WXGA screen ATI Radeon Xpress 200m 128Mb UMA
-- DVD-Supermulti (dual layer)
-- Integrated 802.11a/g WiFi

This Toshiba from PC World is £399 and has a better processor, 1Gb of memory and a 120Gb harddrive.

I also has Windows Vista Home Premium rather than Home Basic.

It's hard to say that given the above info ... for me it's a cold deal given that you can get much more for £6 extra. You'd need to upgrade the RAM anyway... COLD.

That's a very bad deal compared to other offers out there
The let downs are ram which is only 512Mb, 60Gb Hard Drive with Vista Basic Home.
I'd expect to pay no more than £250 for this tbh

If you've got an extra £100 - then go for this all singing all dancing laptop:

you would actually need about £200 extra to start off with. The £100 you have to claim back. im looking for another laptop at £500 but i dont have the £600 needed to get that initially

You could get a Dell Inspiron 6400 with 1GB Memory, 120GB Hard Drive for less than this. Eg, with XP Pro and a 9-cell battery upgrade mine was £388 last week.

(I know, I know, no good if you want dedicated graphics thingummy..)

I just ordered one of the follow:

Over the weekend, seemed OK for 530 quid delivered.

Seems a lot to pay for spec. Dell are doing the 6400 of similar spec for £100 less.
