HEAT!

Nice find and price Mike ;-)

Got a few of these in a few archive video raid setups and they are brilliant..

The 3tb [this deal] is the slightly faster of the 2 made by Tosh, the 2tb is 5400rpm.

Will not be around long at this price

One less left Cheers OP!
Thanks for the advice on this Mike, heat from me I bought 2! Also putting them in a NAS. Out of stock now until the 22nd of Feb but you can pre-order. Strange that the retail box version costs less than the 'bulk' equivalent ...

Yes faster than the 2tb

5940 rpm (3 TB), 5700 (2 TB)

No, that's a OEM drive, normally they are cheaper than retail but not in this case
Another one down. Need this for back ups thanks OP.
Toshiba are made by Western Digital, I far prefer WD drives to Seagate for exactly the reasons above.
Finally hdd prices coming down

I don't believe WD make Toshiba HDD's. When WD bought HGST they where forced by the FTC to sell the 3.5" side of HGST to Toshiba, this means the E300 is really the DT01ABA300 which originally was a rebranded HGST

Thanks for quick response and stats.
Yes, that looks promising... I should prolly do my own research to see why/how these are low energy if they are not parking heads every 8 seconds.

Thanks again.

Power usage is more than the WD red so not really sure on the green side apart from being slower rpm disks
The retail drives have gone up to £89.99 now and are 'Temporarily out of stock'; the OEM version is still available for £72.99.
