It's crazy the way memory has risen in price.

These were always on offer for £25.

I had one of these when they were £25 and it worked perfectly until I encrypted in my phone And i could never unencrypt it again
Just format it

Also got this for £25, which was and still is a brilliant bargain. Strange on the encryption tho. Working fine in my Sony which is also encrypted.

Precisely! Bought one off Amazon for under GBP25 in early 2017.

I have one for my gopro and is just fine. Never had issues with read /write
I purchased this card last year for my Galaxy S7 Edge and returned it back to Amazon a few days later.

The read speed is good, the write speed is rubbish and falls below the U3 standard they are supposedly certified for.

If you are going to use this card for adoptive storage on android, don't bother! Get a Sandisk Ultra A1 instead.

They are not very good cards. For 4K video you won't even get 30MB/s Write.

Sorry I should have explained a bit better.

I had this in my s5 for ages then decided to encrypt it.

It still worked perfectly in the s5, but then I bought an s7.

I tried to unencrypt it in the s5 so I could use it in the s7 but although the s5 said it was done it still couldn't be read by anything else. I then did a format on it and it stopped being read by everything (including the s5).

Since I've tried multiple format and low level formats...etc but I've never been able to bring it back.

I'm sure if I never did the encryption this card would still be going strong.

where is it £25 ?
Toshiba are good cards but you have to bear in mind their profile - they have good read speeds but are below average on write speeds - so they are fine depending on what you use them for. If you want to carry files , videos and music they are perfect. They are not suitable for constant High definition video writing to the card.

Not the best for a Nintendo Switch, which is UHS-1 Compatible but not UHS-3 like this card. It'll work, but it'll have slow load times.

Well craig_d you read my mind (worrying!!)was gonna ask for suggestions on what to used for adoptive storage on my Huawei honour 8 . Just looked at the card you suggested and apparently there's a A2 version which has higher read write speeds. Got a bit lost in the detail but wondered if I should go for this if it is a newer model although in a video I watched it was mentioned as being suitable for specialist need which as I don't know what that means I guess I wouldn't using it for that exclamation point!
I also purchased this card for £25 some time ago and it's still going strong!

Haha, I just thinking that was a strange quote but then thought about Airport scanners...

Although I've never heard of any card corrupting due to this...
I’ve just bought a cannon DSLR would this be worth buying or doesn’t it really matter for the extra cost!? Never had an issue with memory cards so presumed they are all the same other than unnoticeable milliseconds in difference between read/write speeds.

I've got the Sandisk extreme plus v30 u3 A1 in both my galaxy S7 edge and nvidia shield k1. The A1 cards are optimised for app use, so perfect for adoptive storage. Apps load as fast as the internal storage. The A2 is overkill really.

Even the cheaper sandisk ultra card has a faster write speed that the Toshiba card. Check out the benchmarks online.

As a photographer if your photos are blurry. That's the camera exposure ISO or speed setting at fault.
If the photo has been recorded to the card then it's not the card at fault.
All cameras have a buffer including phones so the photo would be written there first before the card.

Don't use micro SD. Use full size SD or compact flash in your canon

Speed only matters if you shoot sport or take a lot of photos in one go. Failing that speed doesn't matter. It's all hype.
Why does this happen on HotUKdeals? Oh look it was cheaper last month... Link to where it can be purchased today! That's a deal, not "I could get it cheaper if I had a time machine"

Yep!, I missed out on a load of the 128GB £22-£25 Micro SD Card Deal's from back in the day etc ... (unfortunately). :-(

I (like a few others too), also assumed (like lot's of people did also), that a LOT/LOAD of these would plummet in price to next to NOTHING! -within a small preconceived window of say 2-5 month's from the starting window of 2017 going?!.

(But alas ... ) :-(

Anywayzzzzz, I did cash up on a FEW Kingston 64GB Micro SD Card's with Adapter's etc, for somewhere about/somewhat between £11.20-£11.40 a pop a time!, can you well imagine? (a farrrrr cry from today's £20 odd a pop pricing scheme's in today's market?). :-(

Ohhhhhh how I miss those cheap day's of lore, hehehe.

Hmmmmmmmmm, life ... lol.

think you are still butt hurt after posting the 'cheapest branded 64gb' card ...which it wasn't
then trying to defend it saying it was better... which it wasn't
I'd buy this but it says the Yi 4k cam only takes up to 64GB, is there a reason it can't take higher capacity? Or can it but it won't run well ?
How does this compare the 128Mb Sandisk...

amazon.co.uk/San…128

which is only just over a £1 more?

I think could be S7 software. Used to be great on Android 6.0 but the 7.0 update on the camera has not been good. In auto mode it's always blurry especially in dark conditions meaning I switch to "Sports" mode most of the time. This means photos not as sharp but much clearer. I assume this mode is shortening the exposure time

I would like to think that anyone with a brain would know that a SD card can't cause blurred pictures.

Going back many years I had a Nikon APS camera with a 28 - 300 zoom. If my memory serves me, it was nearly impossible to buy 800ASA cartridges, and I had to make do with 400ASA. At the long end of the zoom it was impossible to get sharp pictures. I would use an educated guess that the poster you have replied to is experiencing similar issues. Although today's digital cameras have auto everything, it still requires the user to understand the basics if they want decent/expected results.

+1 Craig, purchased a 64GB Toshiba Exceria for my 4K 360 cam and the cam just fell over, then found it would only get around 20MB/s so went straight back to Amazon. I got the 32GB SanDisk Extreme Plus and that thing is stinking fast! 80MB/s for same price! Drop in capacity no big deal for me.

Yep!, your most welcome.

And inline with what you said before is this too, now some of the 'Big Boy' Electronic Companies have of late gotten into the act too sadly?. :-(

Eg. Apple have exclusive/locked Deal's with certain Semiconductor Companies from the likes of Samsung ( + 1 or two other Companies too besides) etc, to have first dibs on most/if not all the various memory storage allocations out there there is for pretty much all Apple's iDevices that they're currently making out there. :-(

(Indirectly strangling the Market on/of free Trade if you like?).

And what of the other Semiconductor Companies out there you may also ask?.

Well, let's just say, when Samsung (the World's third biggest Semiconductor Company in the World), willingly jump's ship into restrictive exclusively 'Partnerships' and the like?, then what's left for anyone/everyone else, etc?.

Considering that the others like Sandisk, Kingston etc, wouldn't be anywhere near the level of those first 2 spot's ahead of Samsung's third position ...

(So it possibly gives you a small indirect idea of perhaps the remaining scrap's of what's then left over, for the likes of you and me to then also 'feed' off of too like?). :-(

Not that I'm a fan of such a 'concept' mind? (as I'm blatantly not in the slightest!, lol), but, it is what it is I guess?. :-)

The link you spoke of that you read from, can I have it to read upon too please?, lol.

One day we'll alllllllll wake up, and it will all be a dream, hehehe. :-D
