Bit of a risk picking one of these up now it looks like Blu-Ray will win the HD war...

I think you might be right, but it is a good price if someone looks for one.

Don't forget 4% Quidco

Is this the model that has a multiregion hack out? If it is then you have an excellent player that will do a great job upscaling your SD DVD's. Plus play very very cheap HD-DVD's.... whether BR wins or not.

Its not the HD-E1 its the HD-EP10

i doubt it
HD-DVD has the possibility of piracy, which gives it a hell of a lift

And porn :whistling: , I get the feeling the format war has a few more battles to come before the war is won

u c an get porn on blu ray now!!

Ahem... so i hear anyways

And Slysoft have cracked BR protection recently

Ep30 on play.com for a tenner more

Yup I thinks so also, with no Warner Brothers it seems HD's most loyal follower is jumping ship and if a company of that size has made that decision it's not going to have been for any reason other than they forsee BD winning out.

Personally Im going to buy whichever one 'loses' because there will be a ton of cheap movies. I dont think its over yet though. Im very tempted for HD DVD as from what ive seen it had some very nice features when it comes to watching extras.

Is the EP30 better than this model ?
