Amazon have priced matched comet bringing the 500GB HD freeview recorder to under £150.

You can get £3.78 TCB for Comet (and collect in store), just depends on which company you prefer.

NB: This doesn't come with an HDMI cable.

There is a cheaper deal instore at Tesco but it doesn't appear to be nationwide

I still think its ok £150
Yep, both good deals. Just depends on where you prefer to shop. (Or if you have loads of Amazon vouchers from TCB)
as an option, Asda are selling the Philips HDT8520 for £150, my local (Talbot Green) had 3 in stock
There is only one box that's worth getting and that's the humax foxt2 HDR trust me it's faultless this is the best freeview hd pvr and no freeview box can come close to it

And For freesat the humax foxsat HDR but now the Samsung smt-s7800 is probably the best had a few teething problems to start but Samsung has rectified these with a software update
oh no! just got this 2 days ago for 179.99 at amazon!! could a get the difference back do you think?

As an owner of the Humax FOXT2 HDR, I am inclined to agree that it is the best around, but only worth the extra price over these if the network related stuff is of real value.

Otherwise, I would go for this, or perhaps the Digitalstream which can be had from Amazon Warehouse for as little as£116.95 although I would go for the like new version for £124.26

Only if it's one of a particular selection of stores, it seems.

The stores where you can get it for £129 now, seem to think the original price was £229. All the stores near me are selling it at £199, marked down from £299.

Thinking about it: Does anyone here work for Trading Standards?
