Good hard drives are these.

Can you load a windows operating system on these?

Probably worth Flubit'ing this.

Just a word of caution though, the last item I purchased through Flubit did not arrive and I had to hound them to get their merchant to send a replacement. It's a hassle, but worth it if you want to save £5-6 off the Amazon price.

lol, I just happen to have plugged mine in a minute ago

Any with this drive, can it be opened to remove the hard drive?

Good Info Yoda!

You can walk in and buy these in Currys for the same price at the moment.

There is another thread on the Currys offer.

I got one of these from Flubit for £39.52 last week. It came from Amazon.

I've had the 500GB version for a long time. A good hard drive.

Its been this price for a while now, I grabbed this exact model from amazon and cault fault it, rather good build quality and a good name, might just add there perfect being paired with an xbox one console, I run out of memory already and added one of these with ease, xbox one users out there this may be of interest to yourselves

Thanks I've been looking for a while as to which is best suited to XBOX one, and at that price it's hard to pass on the deal....

There really isn't a best suited external hard drive for the xbox one, as long as it usb 3.0 ready/compatible, there are some people that say you benefit paying for a more expensive usb external drive @7200rpm+ spindle speed but tbh this one runs at just the same speed as the one bundled internally (@5400rpm) in the xbox one, you wont notice any difference in performance once installed, heck you wont even notice its there, im glad this helped you out

Same deal for a few days in PC World / Currys...

Looks like they have reacted at Amazon

bought the 2gb version, you take my warning to not to buy it. The Auto-sleep power saving makes the disk useless. every time when you save or drag files in or out it is sleeping losing response for a few seconds till it starts to work. Google it everyone talks about the stupidity. And for the same reason it can't be used for some tv, ps or so.

sorry i mean 2TB.

Surely there is a way to disable that. I can't imagine and have never heard of a HDD manufacturer permanently enabling sleep mode on their products.

Separately, anyone know if the drive can be removed from the case?

I have the 1tb version and I am currently using it with a Panasonic Viera tv to record tv programmes and it seems to work fine. Not noticed any delay except when trying to rewind live TV.

Just found a similar model with free 10gb cloud storage.

Wished I got that one instead

One comment on Amazon form a buyer says 10% will be faulty (of which 2 of his were), so do some background reading on this before deciding to see if that is the general consensus on the Internet.
