Hi Guys

This is my First Post, so apologies for anything i've missed.

Thought this was a pretty cheap HDD for 4TB.

Product Description:

Store data securely on the new STOR.E CANVIO external hard drives. It's quick and easy to transfer your files via SuperSpeed USB 3.0, and you can also organise data and backup files with pre-loaded NTI Backup Now EZ software. Backward compatible with USB 2.0, the STOR.E CANVIO features versatile mounting options and is available in two colour variations.

Smart, Safe, Speedy

The STOR.E CANVIO Desktop is the smart, speedy way to preserve your favourite files and memories. USB 3.0 makes it super-fast, and it's backwards compatible so connecting to USB 2.0 devices is no problem. The pre-loaded NTI Backup Now EZ software is a complete back-up solution to keep your files safe. And password encryption goes the extra mile to guard against intruders. Available in capacities up to 3 TB, the CANVIO desktop is the ideal partner for your TV or PC.

Fast Transfer Speeds

Powered by new USB 3.0 technology, these portable hard drives are far faster than—but still compatible with—USB 2.0 technology. That's important for speedy transfer when organising your files.

Smart Design

These hard drives are easy to carry and nice to look at. You get a choice of colours and versatile mounting options. Available in several capacity sizes, STOR.E CANVIO desktop hard drives are perfect for storing data, music, pictures, and more.

Yes. I've bought a good number of these, and ripped out the drives to put in my Synology NAS.
The enclosure is clipped together, so you will definitely destroy some of the clips in opening it. I've found that using a putty knife or paint scraper works best. Just insert it near the PSU socket where the two case halves meet and gently pry upwards. Once you've popped the first clips, the rest come pretty easy. Typically, I break a couple of clips, but not enough to prevent using the enclosure again if you want to.
