I think if you take everything into consideration the deal saves about 100 quid and a decent spec laptop. Not a bad deal.

The free ugrade to Windows 7 is not actually free! It is £27.50 handling and processing fee.

I realised that after reading more carefully.

The only reason I'm aware of it because I've just bought a Packard Bell from Tesco with free upgrade to Windows 7, and that incurred a £19.50 processing fee for the "free" upgrade. Even more annoying is the fact that if I was based in Europe the processing fee is 14.50 Euros.

Is this any good? I am after a laptop

Compare with this one...…-2-

Dell better value unless the free HD just what you need?

Toshiba highly rated for reliability and backup. Not an amazing deal but pretty good for the spec I'd say.

Remaining Vista stock is bound to come down in price once Win7 is out, so if you're not in a hurry............

Had a look at these in Comet today, and build quality seemed good compared to a lot of similar spec'd PCs. Dell Studio 1555 spec was good for example, but the the screen flexed a scary amount with a little pressure. I've had two good high spec Dell's through work, but would steer clear of this one. Price and spec may not be the best for the Toshiba, but suits us for what we need. Also, one of these external disks just sold for £62 on ebay today....:whistling:
