Agree - please can you provide a link to it along with the reseller's product code, as that would make it easier to find.

Cheers, Scotty Boy![/FONT]

you still didn't answer about price - showed as 260 for me now doesn't even show
pixmania are based in france iirc and apparently some have problems with returns etc so gl if you do develop a problem.

The link now just re-directs to the home page.

I'd rather pay an extra £100 and get a brand new much better spec core2 duo.

I think this is the proper link but spec is outdated hence price.

LOL, nearly wet myself. Not with Pixmania you don't, I was bitten by them once ... Couldn't believe how rude they are on the phone, it's incredible how unhelpful they are.

That's the point - if you don't have the extra £100 then this is probably the best you'll get. Good deal if you can find it.

Pixmania is now part of DSG which is why they sells laptops and all the other stuff that currys and pc world do.

DSG are a nightmare but pixmania are the champions when it comes to shocking customer service. Although part of DSG they are still a separate company registered in France meaning they are not subject to UK law when it comes to Sale of Goods, Distance Selling Regs and as such cannot be touched by Trading Standards either.
(It took me over 4 months to get a refund on an PS3 bundle where the rest of the bundle was not sent. They simply refused to send the rest even though it was on my order tracking. It wasn't a misprice deal or anything either)

Do you have any links confirming that a French registered firm operating in the UK as completely excempt from those laws?

Confirmation would be nice.

Also what other major retailers are foreign registered???

Would be interesting to see, I've come close to ordering from them before but didn't.

I suppose Consumer Credit Act comes in useful here on £100+ orders so using a credit card should offer protection.

It would seem Pixmania's T&C's confirm all this:

pixmania.co.uk/uk/…tml

If you want to return an item you have 15days, within 7days they might refund you, within 8-15days you get vouchers not cash

If a fault develops they don't want to know and refer you to manufactures.

Never thought I'd say this but it would seem all that moaning over decades in the 20th century was worth it, we actually have decent laws that hold retailers to account, when properly applied (Watchdog being prime example, alot of ignorant people not aware of their basic rights)

The lesson from all this I think:

Order a on credit card with a decent insurance/claim back policy or don't use pixmania at all - avoid at all costs due to disgusting track record on customer services and no UK law backup.

Which is a shame as Pixmania are tarnishing foreign operated companies that retail in the UK who do have decent customer services, not doing the French any good either.

Great advice there schizoboy ... rep added
