Now we're talking! 1920 x 1080 resolution, 42" and under a grand.

that contrast ratio is bad for such a big TV, is that right?

What does this mean, how does it effect say playing your 360 on it ??

It means it's interlaced rather than progressive. Better explanation ]here.

What content is available in 1080p?

Really, nothing at this point. Today's high-def broadcasts are done in either 1080i or 720p, and there's little or no chance they'll jump to 1080p any time soon because of bandwidth issues

I'm even more confused now, but it looks like something i shouldn't be worrying about at the moment. The only HD source i have is my 360 and this tv sounds like it will be more than capable of doing what i need it to.

Thx for the info though, it seems the more i read the more i confuse myself....lol

Yep there comes a point where you have to forget future proofing but I'd be feeding a lot of content from my PC which would be 1080p.
