great deal, few questions, has it got a memory card slot and how easy is the memory upgrade in this

better processor than the nc10 (negligible difference though) and better battery life, very good imo

it says "SD/MMC media card slots"

Chiclet keyboard? Really? If that's true I can see this becoming seriously cold. Even with a 9 hour battery nobody's going to want a keyboard that awful. If you've never used one then the keys are essentially just blocks of rubber that don't go up and down like normal keys and they're far worse than even the wollyest of normal rubber dome/scissor switch keyboards.

It seems unlikely though, I guess it's more likely to be just a sony-style keyboard with isolated keys. They do resemble some chiclet keyboards like the one of the ZX Spectrum so maybe that's where the confusion comes from?

XP, no SSD, no hsdpa, no thanks

And no sim-card slot?

Card slot is normal SD/MMC type, takes SDHC up to 16 GB.

Memory can be upgraded to 2 GB, has only got one slot (same as all Intel Atom based Netbooks) so you need to remove 1 GB card and replace with a 2 GB. Any 667 MHZ 2 Gb laptop memory modue is fine.

Bit confused with your chiclet keyboard comments, chiclet keys are the new thing - check out the apple Macbooks. I tried this in Comet Store on Saturday and compared with all the competition (Samsung NC10, Asus 1000HE etc) this has the best keyboard. Very little flex and large, individual keys. Plus nice finish and large trackpad.

Not really relevent comments, this is in competion with other Atom based Netbooks (Samsung NC10, Asus 1000HE, MSI Wind etc) all of which come the same spec as this. ie. Windows XP, 160 GB Hard Drive, 1GB Ram, Wireless, Bluetooth, Card slot.

See above answer, this is a deal on this netbook in comparison to competing Netbooks. None of which are equipped for mobile broadband. If you want a mobile broadband equipped Netbook take at look at contract deals.

Just been on the Dell site, no mention of 3G modem on the Mini 10 specs:

www1.euro.dell.com/con…hs1

It's available on a mobile brodband contract but not on a standalone product. This is for anyone not wanting to sign away one of their kidneys to vodafone.

SSD or lack of is again irrelevant, I posted this thread to notify other people of a good deal on this netbook, not to debate it's features. If you want an SSD then this netbook isn't for you - but surely any buyer can figure that out when searching for the right product for them?

I thought this site is about sharing deals on particular products?

Anyway, back on topic.......... price has now changed to £312.80. Still cheapest price for this Netbook.
