The one in Tesco is 11N and 110, which has XP. I think there may be a mistake with the size of the hard disk as well . It should be 160 GB, not 250 GB which is used with W7 in 12N.

Very nearly went for this but unfortunately I can't manage without the CD/DVD drive and can't be arrissed carrying a portable drive around.

Lovely laptop though, I'm sure a few will be glad of this deal being posted!

Well there's the mistake - It isn't a Laptop, it's a Netbook, comparing it with a Laptop/Notebook is like thinking of a push-bike as a motorbike.

No optical drive isn't a big deal anyway, there are lots of cheap and easy ways of getting round it, unless you MUST use a DVD on it's original disk for some rare reason, instead of ripping it to another format; but while you can manage perfectly well with a Laptop format PC without having another machine at home for almost all situations; a Netbook is only really an extra, for light convenient Net browsing or other light duty computing activities, and is in no way a substitute for a proper full PC. The manufacturers don't sell them as a Laptop, but for some reason some people are seeing them in that light, just because they look like one!

If you really must have an optical drive and a fairly small size, then ultra portable notebooks (say 12/13 inch screen size which tend to be the most affordable sizes) are far more the thing, although usually you pay for the convenience, and naturally they remain a bit heavier.
