Great little netbook, I bought one for £229.99 from argos which was the best deal among the later generation 250gb netbooks at the time. When the nb was first switched on it took a while to load the software, once that was done I thought I had bought the biggest pile of sh!te as it was so slow. It took me an hour to uninstall all the toshiba software which transformed it no end and I recommend anyone to do. I now use it in preference to my desktop pc for everything except photoshop and anything that needs a disc, it runs MS office 2010 fine.

The following utility can be used to remove the existing bundled software.

PC Decrapifier
Embedded Link

Comes wth the option of upgrade to Windoes 7 Premium for £14.99 . I would say hot.

It's a cheap netbook for goodness' sake!

It's not that cheap, and its 3 cell!

Win7 works fine with 1gb, its a netbook, not a desktop games playing i7

It'll be fine for watching/streaming video online. iPlayer, YouTube, 4od etc. All fine on 1gb.

For a budget Netbook the specs are just fine for office/email/internet tasks.

I'm sure there's a higher cell-count battery for this for those that need to be away from power for longer

dont forget 1.5% quidco - have some heat - seems to have reasonable reviews as well so just ordered one!

and yes paradigm there is (or at least was) a higher cell battery - as per review extract below:-

If you opt for the longer-lasting six-cell battery, the NB250's weight rises to 1.33kg, and its chassis increases from 192mm to 212mm deep. That spoils the machine's appearance ever so slightly, but it's a relatively small price to pay if you need extra time away from the mains.

ONLY payable on delivered orders.... which adds £5.95 to the bill :-(

Looks great for the money. I was looking for an upgrade from my MSI u130 and the DDR3, 250GB looked tempting.

The Glossy screen (hard to read in conservatories, outside) and lack of bluetooth mean I need to look elsewhere.

Bought this yesterday. I agree with a previous poster about the bundled software slowing it down, but once you remove all the bundled software its a good little netbook.
Well worth getting the Windows 7 Starter to Premium Upgrade for £14.99.
Add another 1GB of memory for £11.42 from amazon.

hi
just bought one of these from argos - seems great took of the toshiba stuff but not sure if i need to keep some of it on to keep it functioning

want to upgrade the ram to 2gb but not sure which one to get can anyone recommend 1 that will work as a little naive on this subject
thanks

I picked one up from Argos this morning. How do you get the upgrade to home premium?

Realised I should have selected it when I did the reservation last night, spoke to the manager at the store who kindly agreed to honour the offer and sold me W7 HP seperately for £14.99.

just got it - stripped off some of the junk like mcafee, and al the dumb stuff and it seems to run at a reasonable speed for the price !

and seems the upg fetches about 50-60 pounds on ebay - so you could sell it and have the l/t for 164.98 !!
