Seems a great deal to me Toshiba Regza 40RV753DB LCD HD 1080p Digital Television, 40 Inch with Built-in Freeview HD and 5 YEAR GUARANTEE for £404.95

Product Information
The super stylish Toshiba Regza 40RV753DB LCD TV arrives in a stunning black high gloss design and delivers an incredible 1080p Full HD resolution picture.

This TV features an integrated Freeview HD tuner which will allow you to watch subscription-free HD broadcasts. To watch Freeview HD broadcasts you’ll need to check that you can receive it in your area. Click here to find out more about Freeview HD.

Even when you’re watching standard definition content, Toshiba’s Resolution+ upscaling technology instantly improves edge detail and texture, enhancing it to virtually high definition picture quality. You’ll notice favourite movies, programmes and games become clearer, richer and sharper.

The 40RV753DB also features a USB input, allowing you to playback MP3 files from external devices.

Full HD 1080p
1080p is the purest form of high definition that a television can display. This leads to a smoother, more film-like image, which will satisfy sports and movie lovers alike. With a 1080p signal, the information that makes up an image is displayed “progressively” or all at once, rather than in an “interlaced” fashion.

I guaurauntee he won't show his face in here again.

These Toshiba TVs with resolution+ give a great picture quality even on SD material.
Its one of the few picture improvement systems that actually makes a dramatic difference ( and does NOT bring about any picture nasties such as smearing).

If freeview HD was in my area now i would be tempted to upgrade from my 37" Tosh.

Just bought this for 404.95 in store. Took seconds to find channels, now hooked up the xbox on 1080p... looking niiice!!!!

Glad i could help you

I'm a bit late seeing this, but I've ordered one.Cheers heat added. I'm surprised it has not got hotter than this.

I got this one back in july for the world cup for £499.99. The picture quality is good, but the interface is pretty sluggish IMO, especially when changing channels it takes some time to load. I wouldn't say its more than 5 seconds, but its probably pushing it. Remotes not the best either.

Still a good deal though

I think that was the joke wasn't it? Spelling spelling wrong or am I being too (spelt right) clever.

let's forget about the spelling and seriously compare these two deals:

For me the 5 year John Lewis warrenty is the deal maker, that must be worth at least £75 in itself, if not more

Through here:

toshibaregistrations.com/Lov…asp

Just make sure

- you register within 7 days of date of purchase/ date of delivery
- when you submit documentation you send it recorded delivery and enclose ORIGINALS of the receipt and identification

I've had confirmation its for 12 months of the £7.99 film package (4 each month, 2 at a time) but you can upgrade and pay the difference (I for example, will upgrade to games + film and pay the £2 difference each month)

Hope that helps

(this deal should be far hotter btw)

Thanks for the info! That has to be one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to tv's.

anyone worked out how to up the firmware to play divx via it's USB port?

Was looking at this yesterday on john lewis and didnt even notice it lol just ordered though thanks, it says DLNA. Does that mean I can connect it to net or just streaming via pc?

Its lovefilm or odeon isnt it, think I will opt for odeon, if Im watching a film in the house id rather download it instantly.

"Speling" ????
You mean "spelling" ?
Hoist by your own petard !

I have this TV and it's not sluggish for me

Just stating my experience. My one does take a while change channels, atleast longer than my 19" Tesco LCD we have in the kitchen.
The network function on this is a bit pointless as well. Most you can do is look at pictures on your home media server.

The channel changing thing does not even matter, seen as most people would probably just use it with sky etc.

That other one isnt as good, has no freeview hd, no dlna and no 5 year warranty which is worth to me atleast 100-150 more.

I've got one of these for my bedroom.
It's fantastic.
Picture quality is amazing - even in plain on SD.
My WD Media player is hooked up to it and the Hi-Def content looks just brilliant on it.
This is a great bargain.
One small drawback is that Toshiba charge a small fortune for the USB wireless network dongle.
Think it retails for around £46.00p for what is in effect a £15,00p wireless dongle.

I was all set to buy this and then I read the Which review which was not good. It reported
poor picture quality and sound . Also poor viewing angle. Never sure whether to believe
these reports or not. Still tempted because its such a good deal with a 5 Year Guarantee for £404.95.
Does anyone have a view on this report.

Thank you - some people just don't appreciate irony.

It's actually "hoist", and you missed out an apostrophe.
