Thanks mighty MOD ! :-D

would Comet (£599) price match Dixons (£499) and then use 5500AW code for extra £30 off making it £469

well i am not sure --

this is from COMET website
---
Our Comet Price Guarantee applies to products you've bought over the phone or online as well as in store.

All we ask is that the item you compare against is boxed and sold as brand new, in stock and available for delivery and that we can verify the price either in writing (for example an advert) or verbally (for example by phoning them up).

There are a couple of exceptions. We won't try to match the price of internet or mail order companies with no stores. Nor do we match against warehouse or mail order clubs or voucher promotions, either online or in-store.
That's fair enough, isn't it?
-------

Dixons does not have retail outlets now so they fall in 'internet company' category.
no harm in checking with comet though!

Nice TV and great price, H&R

I'll be trying the comet price match as I've got a £50 voucher to use there. I'm hoping the bricks and motor quote just refers to random internet only stores that noones ever heard of. :? Hopefully!!!...

good luck. from previous experience of comet i know that they don't necessarily follow any of the price match guidelines they have on their website. i followed up with their head office on one occasion and they said that it is at the manager's discretion. doesn't mention that on their website though.... remarkably they don't mention it in their adverts either

There's a Dixons at ]Gatwick airport.

Recommend using the £30 of voucher and getting this for the £70 extra

SD stuff looks the nuts on it

The OP says you can plug a PC into it via the USB port. I don't think that's the case... photos and music only via USB stick, I read somewhere. Otherwise a you'd have a HD TV that streams media, which would be irresistible..!

Cant go wrong with a Panny Plasma, shame its only got 2 HDMI though as most people are knocking out sets with 4. The Tosh has 4 but poor contrast and only 50hz.

Thanks for the heads up, I decided for the Toshiba. It will be deliver 2 moz

Thought I should expand on this, SD stuff REALLY looks the nuts on this TV! Bought it when it was £550 at Comet, the picture from the built in freeview tuner is possibly the best I've seen on any LCD or Plasma, it claims to boost the picture 'to near HD quality'. I was gonna get a free to air Sky HD box for it, but since seeing the picture quality, I'm not gonna bother! The only bad thing i can say about this tellybox is the sound, i'ts awful beyond words!

Gone up £30 now. Still a bargain, but not as good as it was.
