Not too sure about Laptops, but this seems a good price?
The Toshiba Satellite L450D; powered by the mighty AMD Sempron™ Processor for Notebooks SI-42, the L450D runs Microsoft's fantastic new Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium operating system smoothly and efficiently. This laptop is perfect for all the family and benefits from a 250GB Hard Drive and 2GB Memory, for mass storage and smooth multitasking.

The silver Satellite L450D from Toshiba features a well-sized 15.6-inch widescreen LCD with a High Definition resolution, so it's great for watching movies and high-quality web page viewing. The dual-layer DVD rewriter drive and built-in WiFi enable both activities. Take advantage of the memory card reader for viewing and editing your digital photos.

Great connectivity is ensured by the 3 USB ports, the headphone and microphone port, as well as the HDMI connector in case you want to hook up a widescreen TV to serve as a monitor.

Is it £479 or £229?

Reviews of this laptop from some people on AVForums are awful - it is very very slow - spend a bit more and get at least a dual core cpu.

Don't believe it would have ever sold for its RRP but at £229.97 not a bad deal.

previous price £479.99
£229.97

Save a total of £250.02

Looked at this earlier - couldn't find stock anywhere

Not in your thread title

I voted hot by the way because pretty much any laptop at that price isn't a bad deal.

Amazing price for a laptop, i remember the days when a laptop was £1800 for a lower spec machine

Would the cold voters kindly post links to better deals, I'd love to see them.

No matter what price you post computers on here, if they are not high spec
a lot of peple will vote cold, they do not seem to realise that lots of people only need
a low spec laptop, but regardless of spec they should vote on the deal or not vote at all.

A deal is only a deal when it is actually available and not just listed for gaining attention, which Currys/PCWorld are famous for.

Have you bought this laptop from PCWorld for this price?

you have to find one first and after that one will have to deal with awful awful customer services!
for that reason cold....i would never go anywhere near that store.

None anywhere around Milton Keynes + 20 miles

To clarify, none in stock within 50 miles of Ipswich

Good price as long as you realise it's far from a fast CPU.

An amazing price i think would be more useful than a 10.1 inch netbook at the same price would be ideal as a present for someone a lttle too young to apreciate the cost of a laptop and you not too worried about it been a scuffed a bit.

I bought a second-hand L450D-13X two years ago for £225. It's ok, nothing special, a single-core 2.2 GHz processor, so really an entry-level laptop today. It hasn't given any trouble though. You don't want to pay more than £200 as there are much better machines around now. I keep it as a spare.
