Totally agree. My work Toshiba Ultrabook has very nice build quality and runs great (despite only being an i3). With any PC, but with laptops in particular, you're miles better off swapping the stock HDD for an SSD. The 5400rpm speed of laptop drives is a huge bottleneck and really limits the performance (stock HDD's actually make laptops nigh on unusable IMO) . Now that you can buy a 250GB SSD for under £100 this is a no-brainer. Buy a few TB of portable USB3 and zing!

Admittedly, this adds another £150 or so to the price so that needs to be factored in.

I personally was thinking to definitely get a 128GB SSD to go in this, we store everything on a HP Microserver which is serving up our network storage which has an element of redundancy, so don't need much more storage than that at the front end. (i'd bung this laptop harddrive into the server)

I have a lot of Toshiba gear and do think it's very good stuff, including one laptop in the past however this did develop a dry solder joint on it's motherboard after 2 years or so......and i have a HP 840 laptop from work and it's very well built, it's a toughie this one, but the i5 in both seems very quick

I looked at that but couldn't see a "purchase" link and a basket etc, just the guide price

Well the HP has the better processor bigger hard drive same speed @5400rpm better graphics + I'll be saving a pound

You'll be spending £20 more on the HP

Yeah that's the first thing i wanted to know. From the Toshiba website: Max Resolution : 1,920 x 1,200

Actually
internal resolution : 1,366 x 768
