I've just googled as I'm interested in buying a decent laptop and found this same laptop @ Pixmania.com for £535 with the discount code: PIXUKSALES14.

As Nash has found it's cheaper at Pixmania.

You can pick up i3 laptops with 15.6" screens for around £400; however 4Gb memory, 500Gb HDD, the bigger and higher resolution screen and the faster processor is worth the extra money in my book. I voted 'warm'.

Looks like a good deal to me especially since Toshiba have a good reputation for supporting their laptops

If anyone comes across a similar priced i5 laptop with a decent graphics card and a TOUCH SCREEN, please post it here or PM me. Thanks.

Not too bothered if it has a DVD drive or not....

No Gfx, hence the price.

Hot nonetheless.

No dedicated graphics=waste of i5 processor ....
Correct me if I'm wrong but despire the good ram and processor this will not run even cod4?

Any chance that this could run Age of Conan at a reasonable graphics quality level?

Looking for a lappy for when out and about.

I reckon this would struggle with most games. Had this laptop come with a dedicated GPU and 4gb RAM it'd be a stonking deal. If you only want to email / browse etc it'd be fine ... but then there would be no point in the i5!

Agree with comments above. Graphics let this down. A geforce 330 or radeon 5570 or something would have been nice. Great price if you just want to browse the web, play dvds and some office work. But then why the heck would you need an I5 would an I3 would be more than suitable.

There is no way in hell this will play COD 4 -

I have a Vaio with the Nvidia 330GT and it only just plays COD well.

This is poor to be honest, I think a Dell Studio would have been a better buy.

Isn't a Dell studio 1749 a lot more money? [Edit: that said I picked up a Dell XPS16 i5-520, HD4670 Graphics, 1080p and Blu-ray from Dell Outlet for £575 last week - "scratch and dent" but there wasn't a mark on it... Studio 1558s were even cheaper; so if 17.3" isn't a must and you're prepared to take a risk much better value can be gotten]

stop going on about the graphics lol!!! some people just dont play games  ...but i agree that an i5 is overkill for a standard machine, i3 are better value for this purpose.

Agree with others there is no point in the i5 if you have a shared graphics card?!

There is a cheaper Acer Aspire 5740 Core i5 with 4GB memory AND ATI HD 5470 at PC World (£529.99) as found ]here but if you just want to do computing based around a shared graphics card then go for a Core i3 laptop.

Decent 3d graphics allow far more than simply gaming.

Video encoding/decoding with CUDA/Stream for one springs to mind. Eyefinity support with the 5000 series etc

Voted cold, looking around at the moment and there are far better deals which include a dedicated gfx card around.

Slow deliberate fake congratulatory clap for that comment! :x

The whole point of this site is finding good deals so if you know a better deal then post it!

I think this is a good post - no point voting cold because you are a spotty teenager who likes to play games - if you want a pc to play games on then get a proper desktop with plenty of power that is easy to upgrade.

In reply to my own query on DeLL outlet it appears others have had same problem and it is due to the DNS for DELL outlet not being on your ISP's DNS server... there's more on problem and how to get around at this link : uk.answers.yahoo.com/que…XBs - I ended up adding it to my hosts file after trying all the other suggestions at this link ad now it works!

Kmoron - oops I mean Kborom, the comment wasn't aimed at you - did you mention anything about games???

And that 'deal' you posted was not a better spec - smaller screen and not as good a processor, and a smaller hard drive.

Another personal insult, and my what a cleverly thought out one at that - probably took you all afternoon.

I mentioned gfx hence the relevance, I realise now that you have a problem reading.
