This seems good. Especially with a 2 year warranty.

I am in the market for a laptop myself. Can somebody tell me if NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M graphics card is better than NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M ? - from what I can make out it is slightly.

Also, does it make a difference if the laptop is not FULL HD (1080) on such a small screen or is it advisable to look for one with full hd screen ?

I was on the verge of buying an ACER 5750G (i5 6GB) until I saw this Tosh.

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

At this price I would be wanting a higher resolution screen other than that pretty decent spec wise.

only 10/100 ethernet connection!

What about THIS? Pictures and more detail HERE. £35 extra, might be worth looking at, up to you.

Specs given are wrong, its gigabit. True Specs.

Thanks Miik, that sounds interesting. Does anyone know anything about the company that sells this model (SHD Technology Ltd)? Is it possible to buy the Satellite L750-17P from some other well known seller such as Amazon, Comet or John Lewis?

Miick has referred you to an item sold by Weareelectricals. SDH … Miick has referred you to an item sold by Weareelectricals. SDH technoligies has no stock and is just used to show you the specifcation.Unfortunately, Weareelectricals is a scam site. So please do not listen to his advice!http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews260382.html The john lewis one is a good deal with extra warranty. There was an expired offer at amazon that was good but worth keeping your eye on if stock returnshttp://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/toshiba-l755-144-laptop-i5-6gb-ddr3-ram-usb-3-0-bluray-640gb-hdd-amazon-for-499-1031445

Thanks a lot for the scam info! Yes, I've been checking Amazon these last weeks and prices are changing quite a lot. If I'm not mistaken (maybe I am considering the actual price) I saw the Toshiba Satellite L775-13D 17.3inch Laptop for £699. It's quite stressing to buy a new laptop nowadays with all the contradictory reviews, price changes and so on..

The Toshiba Satellite L750-171doesn't have any USB 3.0 ports? That's a bit strange..

It does have USB 3, the JL specs are wrong.

I was also thinking of buying the Acer 5750G but now John Lewis has introduced the Toshiba L750-171 at £599, I think I''ll go for that instead. This website may help you to compare the NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M with the GT 540M nvidia.com/obj…tml

How on earth could the 525M be better than the 540M?
Logic would dictate otherwise (and logic would be correct).

In either case, but GPU's are only really any good for multimedia purposes, although the 540M could play a few games at low/medium detail settings (it's also quite overclockable).

As for this deal, spec isn't great for the money. And it's a Tosh, and I've only ever had bad experiences with Tosh laptops.
