A fair price for an I5 Laptop ,no more no less . I'd love to know what justifies the original £700 price tag . I await to be enlightened .

Original Poster

Excellent connectivity and battery life, stylish, well built.

Gets a good review except the glossy screen. Worth it for £400, probably the best around at that price.

any stock anywhere?

Can someone confirm if this has a DVD drive please? I think from Amazon description it does but want to double check before buying. Thanks for the post.

does not have a optical drive

Ultra book -but no ssd or hybrid hard drive ? Touchscreen on a laptop waste of money and will do your back in if used on a coffee table (_;)

I agree, they probably advertised it at that price for 5 minutes or whatever the minimum period they must by law!

It's an online exclusive.

Would say this one is better bang for buck hotukdeals.com/dea…682 . Only an I3 against an I5 , but 17" screen ,DVD rewriter and most importantly a Hybrid Hard drive giving much faster use .

This product claims to be an 'Ultrabook' and weighs 2.4 Kilograms?? Isn't that a bit bulky?

Almost any ASUS laptop of 15.6 inch does not weigh more than 2.2 Kilograms.

Ultrabook with no SSD and onboard graphics?

Mental RRP. Ok deal at this price. Actually changed my mind, it's not ok, can't find this a good deal, so it's cold

That hand is TINY!

crabby

CPU is underwhelming, no optical drive, no dedicated graphics, no SSD...

£400 is... OK, but not a great deal imo, probably about what the RRP should be.

You can get a significantly better spec machine from Dell Outlet with 1yr warranty if you're OK with an Outlet machine.

I really can't see the point of the touchscreen if it doesn't detach, it's the best price around for this model so that's good but as an overall deal I couldn't recommend it

Would rather buy a refurbished P750 i7 than this for the price

Thanks - now appears to be OOS for home delivery for Sheffield & Buxton. Not sure if they have region specific warehouses, or if thats OOH across the UK?

Whats the point of a touch screen on a laptop ?

On Windows 8 you can touch the Metro icons. Not sure this offer should still be active, seems to be unavailable now.

The deal appears to be finished. Every time I go through it says it's back to £700!

This offer has now ended.. i managed to get one

It is not an ultrabook - at 15 inches it is too big to be an ultrabook, too heavy and has no SSD - size, weight and SSDs are requirements for a PC to be called an ultrabook.

You aren't going to be lugging this in Starbucks or Weatherspoons to do a bit of work nor are you, as airlines are making it harder and harder to take laptops on-board above 13 inches, going to be sat on a plane using this.

It is a good home use laptop for the price - which is about right - but the original £700 price, as others have noted, was just ludicrous. Who do they think they are - Dell!? ROFLOL
