very good price

nice

Considering we've seen 750gb WD drives for £49.99, and 1tb drives for £59.97 on these forums, this is very cold in my opinion.

Agreed. But, unless you can still get them at that price, then i think this should be seen as hot.

brought the wd drive and you cant remove it for your ps3 so if you can remove this one then its good, no?

I think that you may have confused yourself with the bigger 3.5" external disk. Currently the cheapest hot deal is hotukdeals.com/dea…103 and this is £60 for 1TB, at 392 degrees which is pretty hot. This Samsung is then 14.49GB per £. Whereas this Toshiba StorE is 13.89GB per £ which is similarly hot as there is just 4% difference in price per GB which is insignificant.

For those who like the Samsung 1TB portable then SCAN has this for £1 more but clearly states it is 36 mths warranty whereas the Amazon description does not state any warranty period so it is at least 12 months.
From what I can find googling both the StorE and the S2 have 8mb cache and 5400 rpm.

no he's not confused - check the post directly above your own.
that said, i dont think 4 quid ontop of the best price yet makes it a cold deal

1TB WD Elements external drives on Amazon for £44.60 at the moment. Unsure on the brand status on WD Elements though.

Good point with the £10 discount code from Tesco. 2 years warranty too, great deal (3yrs warranty given elsewhere but more expensive).

Correct, I'm not confused. What I'm saying is whilst those deals may be expired (the 750gb ebuyer one which I bought is), that's more the going rate now so this isn't cheap, particularly at more expensive than that (which was £49.99) with a more reputed hard drive manufacturer (for HDDs, WD >> Toshiba imo).

Not so sure about WD these days being as reputable as they used to be. Had issues with 2 of their drives recently. Also the build on these Toshiba drives is very good with Aluminum casing. Toshiba drives have been used in laptops for years. Each to their own and we all have our preferences.

Ordered at £44.39 from Scan "Today Only". That's a tenner cheaper!
