Not sure about the performance, but as it's ebuyer, 3 year warranty means naff all.

Another quote, looks really poor.
"The TR200 is basically the slowest SSD we’ve ever tested, rivaled only by the OCZ Trion 100—another drive made by Toshiba"
I wouldn't recommend any drive from Toshiba. If it fails for whatever reason, Ebuyer will send you to the manufacturer. Toshiba will not accept a RMA request if you're not a seller. Endless circle where nothing will happen.
Do you know if SSD drives like this can be used directly with Android phones (via OTG usb) without an external power source?

(I currently use 64gb stick flash drives this way with no problems.)
Sooner buy a seagate 1tb sata 3 2.5" drive

That's actually a VERY interesting question that. :-D

I haven't thought of that 'option' myself mind ...

But wouldn't mind knowing the answer to that question myself too though?. :-)

Ebuyer cannot send you to the manufacturer. If they sold it to you then they are responsible for it. The law is 100% clear on that.

lol Whoosshh I did but thanks for the arrogant reply .. anyway I was being sarcastic and taking the mick, I should learn to put an emoji on every post in future
For clarification we are all aware you can get a mechanical 1tb standard drive cheap, just not sure what one of them has to do with a ssd deal as a quarter of the performance but there you go lesson learned !!

Ummm . now let me see . oh yes . It was my opinion of what I would rather have . For clarification I would sooner have a 1tb sata 3 hard drive than a toshiba ssd drive .. There , all sorted . As far as arrogant reply .. rofl .
As others have stated, warranty don't mean jacks when you purchase from Ebuyer.

Has a Crucial V2 64GB SSD failed within few months after purchased, and Ebuyer don't want to know and just flop me off telling me to contact manufacturer, when Ebuyer (all retailers in fact) is supposed deal with the warranty returns for the 1st year of the warranty.

Lost £50 as a result of that in the end.

I contacted SCAN 4 years into my 5 years warranty and they replaced and upgraded my PSU!

Now THAT is what I call Company, taking care of the legalities of it's customer responsibilities?, lol. :-D
I'm surprised that a Deal showing a particular Toshiba SSD Drive (irrespective of the Merchant selling it), got soooooo much HEAT ...

Considering that the bulk of people on here have literally trashed from the Toshiba SSD, to the actual Toshiba brand itself?.

It's an interesting conundrum that?, lol
I think sometimes people mix their consumer rights with a manufacturer guarantee. If you make a claim under the manufacturer guarantee you would not contact the original seller at all.

They did rather infamously have a staff/office picture of the RMAs they'd refused up on the wall - for which staff (allegedly) got bonuses. Discussed at length on HUKD at the time. Surprised they're still in business. They did the dirty on me as well years ago and I haven't shopped there since.

I think because of the power drain you would be testing your luck, even if it does work your battery isn’t going to last long.

Sure, but it would only be used for quickly transferring film and music files back and forth, and so that wouldn't be a problem.

I did read up on it and someone said that you need a special OTG cable with external power in to make it work. I know you can with some phones as mechanical hard disks will work on them.

Yes, you need a Y-cable with the mini disc-drives, but I wasn't sure about these solid-state types.

Interesting article that ...

I didn't realise that that Company had such a legendarily bad reputation like that?.

Very interested.
I've no idea why this is hot, it's a terrible drive. The Crucial 250GB MX500 will get you near top of range performance and a 5 year warranty for only £10 more...
