Enhanced real-time performance. 7201 rpm, 128MB buffer

Is this a Toshiba Spinal Tap Edition?
It's not a 7,200 rpm drive but a 7,201 rpm drive so it goes 1 higher for when you really need that extra oomph.

I guess it's a bit like the WD Black drives - yes it is noisier, but that's the price you'd pay for higher performance. I think the main source of increased noise is that the seeking movement on these drives is more aggressive.

This drive is 1 faster so you get the extra noise of the tubes being pushed into overdrive.
LOL 3.5 and it shows the image of a laptop
Who needs 5TB high performance ??
An ssd and a green type hdd is surely the better option.

Actually there are (were) laptops with 3.5" HDD drive inside. Yeah, I was shocked too ;-)

not if you are gaming
Had one of these a year ago, returned after a few days as couldn't believe the noise..
So it's that 1 extra RPM that takes it from a regular performance HDD to an Extreme performance Hard-drive.
Is the noise really much louder? And is it all the time or only when being used heavily?? Need a large drive was looking into the 4tb version before seeing this, seems to me similar to the wb black?
Thanks, ordered a 4tb 2 days ago for almost same price! lucky Amazon were slow to dispatch so cancelled and ordered this one
How much slower will this be compared to a budget SSD. I'm a gamer and need space but want performance. I tend to put my most frequently used games on my SSD but my tiny Hard drive at the moment is not sufficient for the rest of my games which means I have a lot of juggling around whenever I want to try a new game.

about 2.5 time slower. SSD generally is around 500 MB/s. this drive is about 200MB/S, its about as fast as HDD can go . Unless it really intensive game with tons of load time. this should be enough

Using this drive for a year and it's quiet.
They all make the slight spin up/down noise when entering/exiting standby.
Been waiting for a deal like this!! Purchased two for my NAS
showing £139.98 for me
