I know but just thinking about what comet, currys digital etc charge its a bloody rip off, think the cheapest I have seen in a shop that is not on special offer was £20 and i needed a couple for my surround sound, so saved me over £35 from the high street

What's this used for? Sounds interesting whatever it is!

Hey why stop at £30-£50... PC World will only just give you change from £65 for a 1m one in fashionable white of course:

£2.89 delivered here and i always get my stuff next day kenable.co.uk/pro…2c4

It is the best type of cable that takes sound from your xbox 360, PS3, BluRay, DVD etc and go to your surround sound setup (Amp). It sounds a lot better form this then Phono cables (White & Red) doing a similar job

You mean 95% ;-)

3000% saving would mean that DealExtreme pay each customer that buys one £1800

I use it on my dvd player and PS3 to get Dolby Digital surround sound to my Amp. Can also use Coaxial cable or HDMI for digital surround.

Plenty of sellers on Ebay offering the same sort of prices, in fact seen a cable for £2.84 delivered that is a LOT more durable than these thin cables, the 6mm thickness cables tend to provide a sturdier connection and are certainly a lot better in use for Optical switch boxes.

anyone know where to get a five metre one from?

bought a 6m philips cable for £3 from tk-maxx

ive always found Kenable to be good, especially as the cables get bigger
v.fast delivery too

they are based in Hong Kong, the prices are in dollors, but when you pay from paypal it converts it for you and that price is the price you pay. It normally takes about 7-10 days to come but well worth it, a great site from my experiences

Hdmi is better for sound than optical :-D

£1.84 + delivery from here tait-components.com/Aud…tml

... please provide support for this 'hdmi is better then optical fibre' statement?

corrsmaniac;4623613

But not all of us have amps that support HDMI audio! I don't, and don't currently intend upgrading.:)

Because a digital signal is so much better than that other method of sending a digital signal, especially over short range!

There's loads of sellers on ebay selling them at various lengths. I've had a few off there and they've been spot on. As always just mke sure you buy from someone with a godd feedback rating.

I recently found a place selling these cables very cheaply when looking for a switch. They do deliver but will be more expensive than this offer.

Handy if you are near Pompey (near Fratton station) and need the cables quickly :

£1.99 for a 1m

Bought my cable first from kenable off ebay and was happy with them.

I'm with you, bearman. Very competitive prices for almost any sort of cable, and quick delivery.

Quote" They also have a 1.5 meter cable for £2.68"

CAREFUL! If this is the one you mean dealextreme.com/det…155 it's not an 'ordinary' optical cable!

Read "Subject: Not just a longer cable - read! "

Another vote for kenable from me. Used them before, cheapest I could find for a HDMI to DVI cable with delivery included - which was next day. Brilliant.

yeah id argue hdmi do the same, although coxial is good too.

Having the audio input separately from the video allows you to have the video of say your ps3, and the audio from something playing music (like media-server, ipod etc...)

Just bought 3x 2m TosLink Cables from Kenables for £7.76 delivered !!

If you are buying long cables like 5 metres then I would recommend something higher than 4mm thickness as mine broke quite easily, so its not as durable.
