  • Description
  • Acer’s Chromebook Spin 311 is a convertible laptop running Google’s Chrome OS, giving you everything you need in a compact package.

  • The Chromebook Spin 311 is a convertible device with a 360° hinge, allowing you to easily switch between 4 usage modes depending on your needs – tent, laptop, tablet and display. The body has a footprint smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, plus it weighs a mere 1.05kg.
  • The combination of the exceptionally small size and weight, along with the flexibility of the 360° hinge makes the Spin 311 an ideal device for using on-the-go.

  • With an octa-core Mediatek ARM CPU and 4GB of RAM, the Chromebook Spin 311 will feel really responsive, even when multi-tasking. Plus with 32GB of flash memory, you have plenty of space for all your apps, documents and media.
  • Also, the CPU is extremely power efficient, meaning that the Chromebook Spin 311’s battery can last up-to 15 hours from a single charge – so you can use it for a full day of work or lessons without having to worry about needing to charge.

  • The display of the Chromebook Spin 311 is a 11.6” HD IPS touchscreen, meaning you get sharp detail along with vivid colours and wide viewing angles, which are a must when working on-the-go. You also have Corning Gorilla Glass covering the screen for enhanced protections against scratches, chips and cracks.

  • As a Chromebook, the Spin 311 runs Chrome OS. Chrome OS was designed to meet the needs of everyday users and it achieves this by focusing on three key pillars – speed, simplicity and security.
  • Chrome OS boots up in seconds and it doesn’t slow down over time, meaning your Chromebook won’t start feeling sluggish after a few months. It also strips back all the unnecessary technical features of an operating system that most people don’t want, instead focusing on a clean, intuitive interface. And finally security – every app on the Google Play Store is screened for viruses before you can download it, so you have complete peace of mind that you and your data are being kept safe.

  • The compact size and convertible design mean the Chromebook Spin 311 is a remarkably flexible device – perfect for anyone who needs to work on-the-go, equally well suited for children or a convenient alternative to a tablet for anyone who prefers the option of using a proper keyboard.

These are a decent piece of kit. Very well built and speedy enough for basic tasks (emails, web surfing, Netflix etc). Heat.

This or the Lenovo ideapad flex 3 Chromebook?? I'm not very tech savvy so having trouble deciding between them!!
This one because the Acer has gorilla corning glass, not made of cheaper plastic. (edited)

I've voted cold as I'm not a fan of the MTK8183, as when I had a chromebook with the slightly older MTK8173C, it couldn't cope with a video call and doing anything else. Can anyone with a device using the 8183 run octane and tell us the score?

Just had a look on Notebookcheck, and they say the octane score is only around 10k, which is the same as the MTK8173C. 48758119-5wB4l.jpg (edited)
10597 whatever that means… my daughters is a previous model with less memory but has taken reasonable abuse and is never slow to start or with any of the basics

Does MS Office come installed on this? Or can it be installed
It's a Chromebook so you'll need to use the webapps.
