Thowky yeah we did it last year and got loads off facebook if anyone's interested they've extended 24hours !
Did you do it last year by any chance? They changed it this year (at least for Yorkshire) - all photos taken as you went around the course were put on facebook free (watermarked with the Jeep logo) and you could get a group photo for free at the end without a watermark. It took quite a bit of work to find them all but there was no attempt to charge that I could see. The bag drop fee goes straight to charity. I'd agree that most of the other extras are overpriced but I think the current sale price is probably worth it if people are interested.
Same here captainplayer. First one and loved it - already signed up for Winchester in October and Henley next May. Agreed it's a little on the pricey side for some of the extras, but guess that's typical of a lot of these types of events. If people weren't willing to pay it, they wouldn't get away with it. Worth it for the overall experience in my eyes. Now if they charged a tenner to warm Arctic Enema up a bit......that would be worth the money ;)
I did south west TM yesterday. 4 in a car was worth paying the £22 for premium parking as right outside the entrance and legs didn't wanna walk far after. If is a bit expensive but it was £10 to park anyway and you could be miles away. Saved doing bag drop as well. Worst part is good cost. (Cold) Cheese burger and fries for £9. The cheese wasn't even melted. Can't wait to do it again, I've already bought a open ticket for 2015.
Not all events have outside the grounds parking available as they have either had parking marshals preventing this or areas not possible to park on. Rather take my bag with me then I haven't got a lengthy walk back to the car to get showered afterwards, then again wife comes in handy for bag holding Photos not all photos are put on the facebook page and the fotomarathon pics are watermarked etc.
