Tour de Pez 2011, Saint Estephe £9.99 @ Aldi

Found 14th Feb
Hailing from the Saint Estephe appellation in Bordeaux, the Château Tour de Pez is a remarkable product of the region’s unique climate. The moderate, oceanic atmosphere coupled with long, warm autumns is an ideal environment for growing Merlot grapes – of which this wine is primarily made from, the rest being Cabernet Sauvignon.

It's not Dragons Den you know...........
It's not - its more like a slick promotion by Aldi. Either that or the OP is a wine expert who is also an expert on the climate and geography of the "Saint Estephe appellation"

Pope - I'll make an exception as this is your first post. But we want to hear from you (in your own words) why this is a good deal?

Can you find it cheaper ?
Not widely available in the UK. Just under £14 to £20 around Europe. Gets decent reviews.
I have had a few of Aldi's £9.99 wines and found them to be above average.
The OP should not just be cutting and pasting Aldi's blurb though.
This appears to be a blinding deal but not if you never spend over a fiver on a bottle of wine - this botte from 2011 retails for over £35 upwards when you google this .

Hot from me !
Sorry if I appeared "scathing" OP. But as you see by the others who have posted, they give the reasons why it's a good deal, which would have helped if you had said so (again, in your own words please).

It's not the one from your link, the one in your link is Chateau de Pez which is top wine from this property - made from best quality grapes - the one you can buy in aldi is their third or fourth wine, I can bet made especially for aldi and its worth probably around £5...
And 2011 was a poor vintage in St Estephe😋

The one you have put on the link to is a different wine from the same stable. Chateau de Pez vs Tour de Pez
Good enough wine to be wine of the day for the Daily Telegraph "Todays wine of the day is a classically styled cru bourgeois Bordeaux red perfect for fine dining." even if it does not appear to be good enough for the experts on this site.

What is it about sites like this that bring the hole out of ass's?
