Bought one of these but slightly bigger for the same price in Argos - used it once now it sits with the popcorn maker , ice cream maker and paninni grill etc in the back of that cupboard we all have int he kitchen that never sees the light of day lol

Wife says everythin tastes plasticky out of it and the smell when cooking is really artifical and plastic - good for saving leccie but stuff fdone int he oven tastes just as good and nothing beats goodf old chip sin fat or oil in a pan or deep fat fryer!

Dont waste yur cash unless you are buying it to save electricity!

Airfryer is the best thing I ever bought, you can do so much in it, the recipes are endless... And if you just want something quick for one take half the time. Done loads in my airfryer from just warming a lovely croissant to make crispy jacket potatoes or even chickens goujons... Invest in one definitely!

I have a tower 2.2L and a Daewoo 3.6L. The Daewoo is so much less noisy. It's only smell of plastic is the first few uses of both, I think it's normal for it too burn off from new.

Sure it can never be better than frying or in the oven, however it's a healthier option as well as save cost.
we've just got something similar. Had 2 meals out of it. No plastic tastes for us.

Wife considering buying a second one
I used this once and gave it away ! The only good air fryer is an actifry in my opinion
Have this exact model .can confirm it's never ever smelt of plastic and gets used on a daily basis .
You don't need any oil in this as it's a air fryer not a acti ,indeed instructions say do not add any oil .
Any fat from food is collected in the lower part so just make sure it's nice and clean to avoid cooking odour .
Can 100% recommend

I use mine everyday. The smell goes after a few uses..
My air fryer is used everyday from amazing chippy sausages to naan bread love it food tastes amazing use it and my slow cooker more than the oven you just need to do some trial and error with them to get food the way you like it as some of the presets aren’t great!

I have this exact model and I've never had an issue with a plastic smell when using it. I do find though that I have to adjust the temperature and time a bit though. If it says to cook say a frozen chicken bake/pie at 180 degrees for say, 20 minutes, I usually find that it has cooked sufficiently enough by around 17 minutes. Even the frozen chips take slightly less time to cook than what it says in the instruction book. Think it is a case of trial and error really, to find out what length of cooking time works best.
I used mine for the first time yesterday and now I'm worried that I might have to ensure I don't eat potato wedges every day. It cooked them so well, and with only 1tsp of olive oil, that I don't think I'll be able to go back to any other method. Cooked my 'deep fry only' scampi perfectly too without the waste of oil and risks of heating a pan of flammable fuel to just below flash point in order to cook something.
We ordered one of these plus some bin liners just to get the free delivery. Robert Dyas sent us an email to say parcelforce would be delivering the parcel last wednesday. It didn't track until yesterday to say it was in the Coventry depot getting ready for delivery probably monday. So just a heads up not to believe the delivery promised date.

This one isnt digital and a few quid more expensive? Is one better than the other?
Cook things much quicker than anything else! Also the smell some have described disappears after the second use, its only because it’s brand new. Highly recommended

Completely agree with the findings in the video. Still, air fryer (not actually fryer but it should be called small convection owen) is great when you cook one or max 2 portions of food (3.2 litre capacity) as it saves time and energy. A bit marketing hype rather then new healthier way of cooking.

Second comment from the top, the one that wasn't pinned by the YouTube channel, says it all: the video was sponsored by a convection oven maker. Shock horror that a convection oven maker would say 'just buy a convection oven rather than this other thing'. That stinks, in my opinion.

Is it better to get a bigger size for odd occasions you have more people round...or does it just take longer to heat up?
