Yes please do and let me know. I noticed the same thing about the lid.

I had a read and apparently lid doesn’t need to be tight fitting as steam has to somewhere. So am keeping mine as anything similar sized is double the price.

Bought the last one in my nearest store which had limited availability. …Bought the last one in my nearest store which had limited availability. Originally £35 reduced to £20 then again to £15. Lid isn’t that well fitting so will test it out to make sure it works ok. Bargain if it works well

Slow cookers are designed not to produce much steam so lid doesn't require a tight fit (cooking temperature is 70-80c)

Much cheaper to run and far nicer than a normal oven and buy cheap cuts like brisket

I’ve seen a few cheaper models with lightweight or non stick pots. I have a really old one that has a non stick coating but majority have ceramic nowadays.

Can anyone please tell me what's the difference between the above and this one:
Tower T16040 6.5L Slow Cooker with 3 Heat Setting Warm/Med/High, Removable Pot with Toughened Glass Lid, 320w, Stainless Steel Finish amazon.co.uk/dp/B08G58ZHQV/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_ZQAMGEC6EV4KX5Q1N2CQ
Apart from the handles and the display of the heating/ temp. setting.

Apart from B&M, it seems this exact slow cooker is nowhere to be found (edited)

with current costs of gas and electricity are slow cookers a good idea? or better invest in a pressure cooker for rapid cooking and less gas use?

Yes compared to oven and hob. No idea on pressure cooker but apparently they are more fiddly
