I got a pressure cooker a couple of weeks ago and the soups and stews you can make in them are unreal.

Carrot soup and lamb stews in particular have been my favourites.
The recipe for the carrot soup was just carrots and butter and was magnificent.
Planning tomato soup over the weekend and maybe beef bourguignon.

The best bit is you can use cheaper meats like shoulder/chunk/neck and I'm getting 4/8 amazing super hearty meals for like £5.

Great price, but i already have two
The one from Lidl a couple of weeks ago is steel and can also be used on induction hobs-£30 there. I completely agree with Sizzle - really saves you money on meat and is sooo delicious.

BANG for buck, any info of what pressure they use?
I would avoid aluminium unless you like food with a metallic taste. Stainless steel is a better option, even if it costs more.
Admittedly you'd have to spend a lot more, but for anyone interested in pressure cooking, I'd highly recommend looking at an electric one. I've got an instant pot and it's so quiet in use, you don't realise it's on. It's also great for making yogurts etc.
I have no idea why you would use this. Doesn't everything just turn into soft mush...albeit very quickly.

If you're using it to boil potatoes for mash then thats helpful :p. You can also use it to steam veg so it doesn't turn them to mush.

It does if you use it wrong.
