Cheapest price I've seen on this interesting new dual air fryer from Tower with the viewing windows. Personally think it's a bit of a looker also

Currently £199.99 direct from Tower (who state the RRP is £249.99!)
towerhousewares.co.uk/air-fryers/vortx-9-litre-dual-basket-air-fryer-with-vizion-windows-and-smart-finish-t17100

Credit goes to @Ru8z for the heads up.

Ninja-beating 2600w power rating on this (although it maxes out at 200c compared to 240c on the Ninja)

I've checked the largest counties to ascertain the stock situation and would state there's widespread availability of these - many for immediate collection but some for pick up on a particular day in the week ahead.

I've also randomly checked stores with stock and every time it allowed me to order (I didn't go ahead BTW!) the maximum figure allowed of 10 so I would also suggest the stores that have stock have pretty decent stocks. Which doesn't mean to say they won't sell out quickly so no guarantees!

Just in case anyone doesn't know how to check whole counties (or cities) as it's insisting on a postcode simply click on change store and it allows you to put in cities or counties.

3 year warranty on this (2nd and 3rd year on registration with Tower)

I got this a while back for the same price. Very impressed with it to be honest. The viewing window and lights are great and the baskets are a good size.

Yep, if I was in the market for one now this would definitely be on my (very) shortlist. Are you happy with the build quality and general feel of it? Viewing windows easy to clean? (edited)

Maybe you'll find it sexy if you stick false eyelashes and a pair of lacy knickers on it?

What are these like compared to ninja?
    bellboys's avatar
    Author
Problem is it's highly unlikely there will be a poster who has both so any response will be conjecture and not based on experience.

Spec wise the Ninja goes to 240c and this Tower 200c (like most other air fryers except the Ninjas TBF. We have a Ninja Dual and use the 240c (Max crisp they call it) very infrequently BUT some ppl I'm sure use it more.

This Tower has viewing windows and an internal light so you can view how your stuff is doing without opening the drawer (and letting the heat out!). Should save on leccy as the temp isn't constantly needing to be boosted to the set temp so the element will be working for less time (the fan will continue of course).

And I guess the real biggie is this has a 3 year warranty (2nd and 3rd year on registration with Tower) and the Ninja has a 1 year warranty (2 if you buy it from John Lewis and 3 if you buy it from Lakeland). Potential big money saver.

Price wise this is approx £80 cheaper than the comparably sized (OK, 0.5L larger) Ninja.

Only you can decide at the end of the day. (edited)

Is there a reason you wouldn't go for the 11l air fryer instead at the same price? argos.co.uk/pro…6:1
    bellboys's avatar
    Author
Yes, no baskets . Detractors often state dual air fryers are just small/convection fan ovens at the end of the day and they kind of are (but with some interesting differences). That 11l air fryer really IS a small fan/convection oven! With all the similar problems of cleaning it etc.
It's just my personal opinion, it doesn't mean that wouldn't be better for your usgae. (edited)

Nice one. We have an Argos card so can spread the costs. Good handles on this one too.

Hadn't noticed them until you mentioned it. Yes, tethered in2 places, a good idea. Our Ninja AF300UK (the first dual on the UK market so nothing to compete with it when we bought it in June 21) has just the one tethering point whereas the proceeding AF400UK I noticed has 2.

TBF we've had no trouble from the handles in 18 months of daily use, though.

    Back to the match (edited)

I've been very critical of Argos in the past for just this but posted this after quite a big of digging (whilst keeping one eye on the cricket ) into availability and when I posted this deal availability was definitely good in the major counties I checked. Of course the majority of stores have been open over an hour now and the demand for dual air fryer s being what it is currently entirely possible that stores that I checked that had good stock levels may have already sold out. That's the way it is at the moment, I'm afraid.

Edit: just rechecked and my county, Yorkshire, still has loads of stores with stock. I'll check some more shortly.

    Essex the same.

    London the same.

    Lancashire same

    Kent same

    Surrey same

Just in case anyone doesn't know how to check whole counties as it's insisting on a postcode simply click on change store and it allows you to put in cities or counties.

I posted this but it was taken down for some reason.

It's still £150 here. How did you get it for £135?

Never seen the point in these air fryers. I bought a Panasonic combination microwave oven and it's brilliant. Cost £230 but well worth it. Bakes, roasts, grills, microwaves or you can use a combination of microwaving and roasting etc.
    AncientYouth's avatar
well until you compare you dont know, how powerful and fast is the roast/air fry function?
