I got a couple of these and they are really good

Extend the coverage and improve the signal strength of your existing wireless network with the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps universal wireless N range extender. Also acting as a wireless adaptor to turn a wired device into a wireless one, the TL-WA850RE range extender helps to eliminate 'dead zones' in coverage.

Offering 300mbps wireless 802.11n speeds, it's ideal for smooth HD video, music streaming and online gaming. The universal wireless N range extender also remembers previously paired wireless networks so you don't need to reset when changing the paired router.

Compact in size, the range extender has a wall-mounted design for flexible positioning, while a Smart signal indicator light shows signal strength received from the existing router so you can position the TP-Link TL-WA850RE for optimum range and performance.

Plug and play connectivity means you can extend wireless coverage by pressing the WPS button on the router and the range extender button on the TP-Link TL-WA850RE. An additional press of the pair button can quickly establish an encrypted connection with client devices. The single ethernet port also allows the range extender to act as a wireless adaptor to connect wired devices such as Blu-ray players, games consoles, DVDs and internet TVs, while sharing the wireless network as well.

Offering seamless connectivity with all 802.11 b/g/n wireless devices, the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps universal wireless N range extender is also compatible with the latest Windows 8 operating system.

5p cheaper on Amazon.
i tried one of these, pretty useless get a homeplug.........uses the mains circuit to extend wifi properly
I thought these are actually good very easy to set up you need to find a socket in the house that has a decent wifi range still and plug it into that socket then it boosts the wifi further. The problem I find is that people usually plug these into rooms where they dont have wifi and wonder why they don't work. As for homeplugs they tend to be hit and miss try setting one up on a property that has been extended or a property with old wiring or even a property with lots of gadgets plugged in. All these tend to cause major issues with homeplugs and the only way to go on the cheap it with this wifi range extender.
