Good find Vassy

Hi Op is this V1 or V2 as can be a pain if they stop updating older items and amazon keep selling V1 when they are on V5 like the tplink Router i got from amazon and had no luck sorting it out
Edited by: "scooter" 12th Feb
Scooter, I just had a look and the description on the Amazon page describes it as V1. Also looked at the pictures on the page and it has the V2 packaging. Pot luck I guess but a good price even for a V1

Rhead Hi thanks for the info i wish they sold the new version of the item or gave a drop down menu when there are more versions of a item maybe a good way to go but ah i do not see them dooing that anytime soon
I’ve been holding out for a new router and this one, even as a V1 if thats what comes, will be far better than my TP-Link WD9970, which I’ll still use but just as a modem for this new one. I’ll find out tomorrow when it arrives and post back
Excellent price for this router.
How would this perform wirelessly playing games? I'm using the superhub 3 and every now and then the WiFi just drops and I get kicked out of a party. Reconnects easy but just annoying.

Using power lines but I lose a lot of speed with my wiring, WiFi I get full speed just random drop outs

Worth buying? Been looking at upgrading my Virgin Super Hub... haven't bit yet but this looks tempting...
I’ve been using the VM Superhub 3.0 for 3 days now and I’m also Day 3 into my search for a new router so I can switch the Hub3.0 to modem mode.

I was hoping for the ASU’s AC68U but might see if this reviews well.

cheers
Looks like the virgin 3.0 hub is keeping the router industry in buisness . I had to switch to my phone 4g to type this on a 350mb broadband connection.. ive bought this as i cant suffer the hub 3.0 any longer after 2 weeks . The hub 2.0ac was fine before the so called upgrade
Any idea what VPN speeds this would handle?
I have no issues with ethernet connection to the hub but trying to stream 4k it's a nightmare.
Think I'm just going to bite the bullet and go for this... surely it's better? Lol

Yeah I'm going to do the same lol.
Can someone explain to me how getting a different router helps with their internet speeds? Why do people not use the router supplied by their network?

Asking as I'm on TalkTalk 17mbs but it's ****. Would a router help?

It can't change your speeds as such, but it makes your wireless a lot better so you can get full speeds all around your house. You won't usually get that much improvement on just plugging a cable in, unless you get a really bad router from your ISP.

If he's got the talktalk hg633 then any router is an improvement. Drops internet every hour if not more often although I do get within 2% of the max advertised speed they offer.

Is it just your wireless that drops or the actual connection? I'd be asking for an engineer visit!
Anyone run DD-WRT on one of these?
Is it syslog enabled?

Wireless about every hour and wired maybe twice a day but it does get hammered by 6 people with about 40 devices between us.
I don't know if I should get this or invest in a VDSL/ADSL modem router? I have talk talk talk broadband at home and apart from the weak WiFi range it's running smoothly.

Range is better than my virgin hub 3.0. I have a good signal all over my house . I only live in a 3 bedroom property but all my walls are solid brick.

My virgin Hub 3.0 had constant drop outs and needed reboots. and my sons xbox was always lagging and needing reconnected . He says that it's perfect now . To be fair my virgin hub 2.0ac was great before my apparent upgrade to the hub 3.0 . All my devices around the house now are running snappy as they should . I have a 350mb connection so its what i expected . I have 18 devices connected and everything is running fine

Now £124.99 on Amazon
Is this good for a 6 bed house over three floors. Currently using the super hub 3
How would this router compare to the Google mesh routers, they look a lot nicer than these around the house

Still under £100 from Amazon. Page has defaulted to a more expensive 3rd party seller for some reason.
I received the V1, happy with that
Does this have a modem inbuilt? If not, you'll have to fiddle around with it a bit and set it up with your isp router in order to use it

Looks like it is because of availability issues - ETA for delivery is March 1-17.

No. This is a cable router, designed to work with your cable provider's modem.
