Can anyone help?
Would this be a big improvement over a BT homehub 4 or 5 with 70MB download 20 up?
In terms of speed wired or wireless and range.

I have the same question. I just moved to BT fiber with homehub5. It seems to be doing a good job compared to the plusnet router we had before. Not sure how much value this or another router can provide over the homehub 5. Anyone with experience care to comment?

Buy it, try it, send it back if it does not?

Cheers, have been on the look out for a decent router.

Unless I'm mistaken this is a cable router - it won't work with BT Infinity, you'll need a VDSL router/modem if you want to replace the Homehub.

Correct, the one with built in vdsl modem is £139

Bargain though! ;-)

I assume you can put the homehub into modem only mode and just use this as your main router?

No modem mode on the hubs. You can set them up to work though ie disabling WiFi dchp etc. Or you can buy a modem of eBay quite cheap and use it with this router.

Indeed you can - for around £27 brand new. Home Hub 5 can't be used easily as a modem, so you'll need one from eBay (or elsewhere) for this router. Likely to be a substantial improvement (ac as against N) on the Home Hub, though.

Homehub5 is already an AC router, this one will probably be a bit faster but it's an extra piece of equipment to plug in which can be extra faff for some.

Bt super fast bb and others come with an open reach modem I believe.
